I've recently moved to Bend this past week and was already researching places. Tomi came up as the go-to place for an Asian Mart and there is no other comparison to the other couple I tried. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection and even being able to get fresh ingredients (Like Galangal!) and they have the dry kind too! I was elated I didn't have to make a long drive just yet to get these ingredients. Part owner, Natasha was so friendly, accommodating and mentioned she would love requests and I was able to make some suggestions. Being Southeast Asian, we love to eat sticky rice and they had the rice just not the steamer, and steamer pot so I made the suggestion since I wasn't able to bring that with me on my move and they're going as far as ordering it for me! Looking forward to seeing...
Read moreMy family has been anxiously waiting for Tomi Mart since we first heard the exciting news an Asian market was coming to Bend! Leaving my old city which was super diverse and I could just “run” to get needed Asian ingredients just down the street. Moving here I definitely needed to adjust cooking plans with a three hour drive to Portland to the closest Asian market or coordinate with others headed that way! Looking forward to popping in often and can’t wait for the official hours and produce!!!
Owners, Jesi and Natasha have curated a beautiful, welcoming, and clean space! They have carefully chosen many delicious snacks, drinks, Asian kitchen staples, and more representing different cultures. There’s even a ramen bar and a little cookbook nook for your cooking inspiration! Thank you ladies for sharing your hearts...
Read moreFinally got a chance to visit Tomi Mart and my first foray left me impressed. Co-owner Jesi was super welcoming to me and to all the customers who patronized the store while I was there. Jesi provided guidance to newbies like myself, as well as to more experienced shoppers looking for recipe ideas. Their website highlights their mission of Community, Culture, Celebration, and Collaboration, and those core values shine through on many levels. I enjoyed having lunch right there in the store and thumbing through Asian cookbooks. It would be great if there was a little bit more seating, perhaps even outside if at all possible. All that said, I look forward to my next visit and trying more...
