Went in to wax my eyebrows. Instead, the technician decided to SHAVE OFF 70 PERCENT OF MY EYEBROWS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!! I've had my eyebrows waxed at dozens of places all around the USA for the last 7 years. This has never happened to me. I was shocked when I felt the razor pass my left eyebrow and 70% of the hair fall right down. I told her, "Uhh, just so you know, I don't want my eyebrows thin." She said, "Oh don't worry! That's not going to happen!" Sure enough, I'm now a middle eastern man with thinner eyebrows than my Asian female spouse. Absolutely unacceptable and the most unprofessional waxing I've had in my life.
I complained to Gent's Place before making this review, to be reasonable. Let me just say, I work in a field where conflict resolution between consumers and businesses is something I arrange regularly. With that said, their resolution to this was underwhelming and disappointing. First, the operations manager first tried to defend the technician and call this a "miscommunication"
Excuse me, I've never had to communicate to anyone waxing my eyebrows that they shouldn't shave 70% of them off. That should be obvious.
Second, their idea of a proper remedy was to give me a partial refund and a 50% discount on my next visit, as if I really want to get 70% percent of my eyebrows shaved off again. I spent about $66.00 and their remedy for this embarrassment and humiliation was to refund me $35.00.
I have photos of myself the day before I walked into the Gents Place and photos of myself after. I looked pretty good before I walked in and terrible after I walked out, due to negligence on their part. I am impressed by the audacity to neglect extending a full refund. That is just insane to me.
Even if I received a full refund, it still wouldn't have been enough. Because of their negligence, I won't leave my house unless absolutely necessary, for months, because I am humiliated by having almost all of my eyebrows shaved off. But it would have felt nice to see some accountability being taken.
In their eyes, a partial refund and a discount is compensation enough for making me look so terrible that I am too humiliated to leave my house until my eyebrows grow back in 2 months.
All in all, very incompetent in the way my eyebrows were done, and very insensitive in how the "resolution"...

After years of membership this was my last straw. In years, I have tried to overlook the skill of barbers at Gents Place; only one was able to actually understand a slight sense of Style. But every time she's not there then I have to go with alternatives, which unsurprisingly , everyone was just bad. All of the barbers seem to not have the style or eyes in haircut?? When the packages include "Expert Consulting"... excuse me? EVERYTIME, when I cut with someone else I would specifically tell them what i want, but every time they would cut my hair way too short, even when i specifically explain how I want it to be and what length... just buzz cut all around, and not even leave the top long???? For instance, my haircut yesterday was easily THE worst haircut I have ever had... even the way they hold the razor makes you question their skills and confidence in themselves even. Also don't even get me started with other services like the nails... Gents Place's pedicure was THE worst. She struggle to even do anything, and kept checking the clock to rush me out. Also, the time punctuality is bad, where i lost time for my session and had to narrow down my session (which was initially to be 35-45min) down to just merely 20 min. At the beginning, I was very excited and highly pleased with the service I got. But years have passed and not even close to what it initially was... now, as simply as I can put it, basically just "SUPERCUTS with perks". To a point where i start questioning about the skills or the ability in advising on styles for clients; when a lot of them could barely hold onto their razor and most of the clients haircut look very much the same; basic.
Wish yall the best in your...
Read moreDo you need a haircut? This is a place. Do you want a great atmosphere, amazing hospitality, and to leave feeling better than how you arrived? This is THE place.
I just needed a haircut. I looked up haircut. Ended up being denied a normal cheap place because they were full. No big deal. I went here because of the distance to my hotel and the ratings.
As soon as I walked in, I thought it was a bar or something. They confirmed they do haircuts. I checked in and soon after, they offered me a drink. Wild. They also gave me a tour of the place and explained being the membership program, while reassuring me that I don't have to be a member to get a haircut.
They do it all. Hair, face, massage, relaxation (dimmed/no lights), heat, shoeshines, and probably more.
When it was my turn, I didn't really know what to expect beyond a standard haircut. Man, they make you feel pampered! Thank you, Taylor, for being so welcoming and giving me some great recommendations for while I'm in town. Thank you, team, (didn't get your names) for taking the time to explain things and promoting such a great experience overall.
They offer service levels but I don't remember all of which is included at each level. They have the 3, 5, and 7 course(I think they call it). The three was ~$60. WORTH EVERY PENNY.
If you don't want to spend the money every time, I get it. Sacrifice the three times you eat out and try it once! You'll end up a...
