First Watch is an absolute gem of a breakfast place! My recent visit left me delighted with their large menu and several options. The highlight of my morning was of course finding their classic eggs benedict and option to add seasoned potatoes. My wife is on an eating plan and found something approved by her trainer. Attached is the picture she sent.
From the moment we stepped inside, I was greeted with attentive service, which set the tone for pur experience. The restaurant's cozy and charming atmosphere made us feel right at home, creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxing breakfast which was excellent for us As a Sunday morning date with my wife.
Now, let's talk about the food! The classic Eggs Benedict was a revelation – the poached eggs were cooked to perfection, oozing with creamy yolk atop a bed of tender ham and an English muffin. The hollandaise sauce was rich and velvety, adding a delightful burst of flavor to every bite. What struck us as odd was the servers were buttering / finishing the bread on peoples plates rather than the chef. Maybe that is normal....
Not to be outdone, the seasoned potatoes were a delightful accompaniment, offering a satisfying crunch with every forkful. The balance of flavors in each dish was impeccable, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail.
It was important for us to have a ton of coffee after staying out late at the Amp. We ordered brewed coffee. They brought a pot to the table for self pouring / prep and we quickly needed a second.
Will be going again...
Read moreWas quoted a 10 minute wait time. 30 minutes later we were finally sat at a table. Sorry… a dirty table. Took a while for the server to make it to the table. She brought a pot of coffee, but no waters so the children and one adult not drinking coffee were left waiting for her to eventually make it back. We ordered two Bloody Marys which finally came out about a minute before the food started coming out. They brought two entrees only (table of six.) One order was French toast, but they didn’t bring syrup. After several minutes they brought out three more entrees - three orders of pancakes and still no syrup. My simple order of one biscuit and gravy still hadn’t made it out. My girlfriend went and asked for syrup and my meal. After another minute they brought the syrup. Still no meal for me. When the waitress finally checked in (for the first time since the food started arriving) she asked how everything was. Not great. Really not great. This is the second time I’ve been to this location and received bad service. Last time they took us to two separate tables that hadn’t even been bussed before we finally got them to take us to one of the many clean booths that we passed on the way. Not sure why this location can’t seem to get it together. We have had no issues at the Rogers location. We will not be back...
Read moreWe order Breakfast tacos and BLT eggs Benedict. The avocado was brown and definitely looked like yesterdays with its curled edges. The chicken within the taco was not shredded but just a large clump of meat. The eggs for the Benedict were indeed not poached and the bacon was burnt. We also ordered churros that were absolutely disgusting. Under cooked raw. Nearly puked 🤮 it was so gross.
Our server Janel had the most sour attitude. When asked for our drink order she picked up the coffee cups by putting her fingers inside the entire cup. That should’ve been our sign to leave. Pretty sure ServSafe covers proper ways to handle cups. We would’ve pointed out the food was not warm, over cooked but it looks like the entire staff ignored the bar side of the restaurant. We had high hopes for this place maybe this location just doesn’t try as hard.
The mint coffee also tastes of chemicals not true...
