Horrible eye exam and glasses. It seems they have "a traveling eye doctor" that came in with the Carnival. He told me I had no cataracts even when I told him I was told I had the beginnings from a doctor earlier. It was confirmed this week by Henry Ford Optimi Eye. The progressive glasses Berkley Eye gave me were useless and no solution was provided other than they told me they didn't work becasue I was too tall (true story). Stay away from them. They don't care about anything other than taking your money.
In response to your question why we didn't bring this to your attention and why so long to make this statement. We went back to see you 3 times. The last time was when your genius husband actually hopped up on a chair to explain why my height was the problem with the the glasses that didn't work. We then went away for the winter and when we came back you said it is too long a time for you to correct our problem. I have since been successfully using CVS $10 reading glasses until we went to a real eye center in Royal Oak at Henry Ford. The late review was from the level of excellent experience at Henry Ford Eyecenter. It reminded me of your business model. You dont mention your "doctor" telling me I dont have the beginning of cataracts. So to summarize your why I am telling people to go anywhere other than you? Bad exam doc you hired, bad explanations by tryin to blam me for the bad glasses you made, bad resolution hoping we would just go away like other poorly treated customers you had. IF you really want to be an upstanding business how about a refund to address your poor performance....
Read moreCustomer service and friendliness is not their thing. I up front told her the truth that I had to order a pair of sunglasses online but had a few questions and asked for help. She gave me less than a minute, put two pair on the counter, said you can look and walked away. Now a man walks from the back, leans on the counter and stares at me. Not offering help. I look at a couple pairs ask him a question and get a short snarky reply. At that point it was obvious that they did not care to help. Noting, there was nobody else in the store. I apologized for taking their time and left.
I would rather spend my money at small local establishments if possible. But not if I am treated rudely. They did not know that I had a prescription for another pair that I would have gladly let them fill. If they were at all nice. I was very nice and polite. So Lenscrafters got $540 in sales instead of Berkley Eyeware. Being polite doesn't cost or hurt but it did cost you a...
Read moreI did my research for providers because I havenât bought eyeglasses in over 30 years because the VA provides glasses at no costâŚI decided to look for shops that would meet my needs. After reading reviews of several local providers, I chose Berkley Eyewear because of the positive reviews from customers. I drove over to Berkley and was met by Lisa (one of the owners and always mentioned in the comments in the reviews). I told her what I was looking for and she was just as her reviews said she was! Friendly, suggestive, knowledgeable, and was honest in her opinions. Right then I knew this was better than the large chains and other places that didnât have great reviews. I was very satisfied with my selections (2 pairs) and the customer service that Lisa gave me. If youâre looking for new eyewear, consider this...
