Folio Berkley — Local services in Berkley

Folio has been a wonderful addition to my routine and a tremendous tool in my remote workday.

Ironically, I came to Folio for family reasons, not work reasons.  After 6+ months of being remote my heart could no longer stand hushing and shooing away my curious kiddos throughout the day.  They are simply too young to understand that - even though they could see me - I am working or on calls and cannot stop to play with them as desired.

Enter Folio.  As soon as I entered the space I knew it would be a good fit and my only decision would be what type of desk to rent (open desk, dedicated desk, or office).  Now I can be more present when I'm home and tell my kids "mommy is going to work - I'll see you after" when I leave for the day and they are home with another adult.

The cold brew is addicting, parking is easy, and the private phone booths are wonderful for when I'm on interactive calls and do not want to disrupt others.  The space is planned well with quiet zones and conversational spaces with plenty of outlets throughout.

Dan (the owner) is exceptional and truly wants everyone to feel comfortable and productive.  Thoughtful features are throughout and Dan is often seen with sanitizer in-hand, personally helping to keep the space clean throughout the day so everyone can work safely and stay healthy.

I only wish I had...

I'm so happy Folio opened in Berkley! When I first walked in I was blown away by how cool it is designed, the amount of natural lighting, and all of the great amenities. I was sold on the spot.

I own a small warehouse gym that does not have any office space. So when I'm working "on" the business. It was either take over the dining room table or go to a local coffee shop, with unreliable, slow internet and much of the seating didn't have access to an outlet, unless you stretched a cord across the room.

At Folio the members are awesome, it's great to be around other entrepreneurs and professionals. We respectful each others "work" time, yet we still are able to socialize and bounce ideas off of each other or just talk about life.

For me there is a very therapeutic effect of having a seperation of home and work space. When I'm at home, I rarely take my laptop out of my backpack. I am much more present at home now. 😊

After spending a couple of years in downtown Detroit, my company decided to pivot to a co-working office environment. I toured a handful of co-working spaces in Detroit but after walking into Folio, I knew the space was right for me. Folio provides a personal experience that allows the office to feel like yours and NOT like you take up space in a large shared office. The Folio team is receptive to our feedback on the office (even if it's about finding a new sparkling water flavor to the mix) and is consistently asking for feedback and collaboration on potential changes / updates to the office.

Folio's response to the COVID-19 Pandemic was prompt, professional, reactive and in line with state and local guidelines. They were in constant communication of how executive orders applied to the Folio Community and what additional precautions and steps Folio would take to keep our community safe.
