Coffee and Bark is such a welcoming spot! The atmosphere is bright, spacious, and cozy all at once—plenty of tables, comfy couches, and even a window seat if you want to settle in. It’s very clean, decorated with seasonal touches, and has that modern coffee shop vibe. The background music is light and pleasant, making it perfect for catching up with a friend or getting a bit of work done.
Parking was no issue—there’s a small lot on the side and free street parking nearby. I parked across the street and loved that there’s a crosswalk with flashing caution lights, which made it feel extra safe.
I ordered an iced caramel coffee and their seasonal maple brown sugar latte. The caramel coffee wasn’t my favorite—it was a little sweeter and more unique than I expected—but the maple latte was delicious! Creamy, perfectly balanced, and topped with a touch of cinnamon that made it feel like the perfect fall drink. I almost wished I had gotten the larger size!
The staff here really stand out. They’re kind, patient, and attentive, never rushing you as you look over the menu. Orders came out quickly, and I noticed the baristas greeting their regulars by name and remembering their drinks, which gives the whole place such a friendly, community feel.
Another huge plus—Coffee and Bark is both dog- and kid-friendly! They sell dog treats, have a separate area for furry friends, games and books for families, and even a small rentable study room if you want a private space.
Overall, it’s a wonderful café with thoughtful details, seasonal specials, and an inviting atmosphere. I’ll...
Read moreA badly needed addition to Berkley! I've been thrilled to see Coffee & Bark on my regular walks. This wonderful coffee shop doubles as a working space and dog-friendly café. Long hours (open til 8 on weekdays) are much appreciated.
The menu is selective and amplified by a broad range of Monin syrups. More sugar-free, please! Their lattes and iced coffees have a generous pour, and the lavender latte in particular is fantastic. Baked goods for you and your pupper range from cookies to pastries. It's a narrow focus but it works very well, and you can order ahead.
Online ordering is very easy and notifications came quickly.
Hard work went into making the multipurpose space inviting for many guests. The interior has a comfy, large set of sofas near the front window if you want to socialize. Small tables in a separate room provide a perfect space to sip a latte, get some work done or read a book. You can scan a q-code to reserve a table -- a two-topper, a four-seater -- or a whole conference room with sliding barn doors that allow for privacy. This will be a standby for me in the autumn and winter when I need to get out of the house and feel connected to other people on...
Read moreMy partner and I planned a Saturday morning that involved checking out Coffee and Bark with our dog only to find out that the cafe that advertises itself as a “dog loving” spot doesn’t allow dogs. Totally understandable that city permits etc won’t allow dogs in certain places, but if you promote yourself as a place that loves dogs and sells dog treats and has “bark” in your name, you should at least put a sign out front that says dogs aren’t allowed instead of having your staff awkwardly explain why dogs can’t actually come into the shop (and avoid the subsequent conversations of how every other person in the area thought the concept was silly) . Outside of the misleading marketing, the coffee was 2% espresso 98% milk, the staff was incredibly rude, the wait was obscene for a 3 person line, and the overall atmosphere was just… icky
I paid for two 16oz lattes and two dog treats and paid $20. I understand the cost of coffee is always rising but $7 for a mostly-milk latte is...
