I went into TJ Maxx with my 3yr old grandson. When we walked in he needed the potty, so I pushed him in the smaller basket to the restroom. When he was finished I walked out to wash our hands and a Caucasian woman with lightly permed, redish brown hair and glasses walked in and said with an angry tone, "you are not allowed to bring baskets in here!" "I said I'm sorry, I had to hurry and bring him in. We don't have anything in the basket and I don't have a purse." She ignored me, walked in the stall that I walked out of and checked to see if there was anything in there, then walked out. We walked out of the bathroom and an older Hispanic woman with black shoulder length hair was waiting for us. She looked at me angrily and followed us out. She looked at me up and down, inside the basket and at my grandson. I pushed the basket out and she followed behind me. I stopped to look at some items on a shelf and she said "excuse me!" I moved to the side and she walked passed me pushing a basket. I was shocked!! I continued looking around the store and found a pair of jeans. I walked to the fitting room and asked the employee if I could take the basket in with my grandson. She said of course you can, they are heavy to be taking in and out. She never made me feel uncomfortable or judged. She was very kind I went into the fitting room, tried them on and went on my way. I found a few other things and was ready to check out. I went to the check out and these two women were working the registers! There was a very long line and a customer asked the Hispanic woman if she could call someone to help with the line. She responded and said "there are only the two of us, people called in sick. If you came in during COVID there were longer lines than this. You need to have patience!" I then decided when it is my turn to pay for my items and another cashier hasn't gone up to help with the long line, I am going to ask for a manager to help me. When it was my turn to be helped, one of the cashiers that followed me in the bathroom called another cashier to help me!! While she was helping me the two cashiers that followed me in the store were looking from their registers to see if I was taking everything out of the basket!! I paid for my items and as I was walking away, they kept staring at me, so I said "don't worry, I pay for my things, I don't steal. Who do they think they are?? I got home, put my grandson down for a nap, called the store and spoke to a manager. She said she would handle it and said she was so sorry that I was treated that way. I hope she did something about it and didn't let it go. It was a horrible experience! I've gone there since it opened and never have been treated this way. I have taken my grandson to the restroom with my basket before and have never been approached or followed by an associate. TJ Maxx, racial profiling and poor customer service should never be allowed in your store. I will be back, I love TJ Maxx. I will say if they are there when I shop again at the registers, I will not allow them to help me, I will ask...
Read moreHave never shopped at TJ Maxx in my life, apparently for good reason. Employees are so rude, no customer service or even human decency. I purchased well over $700 worth of merchandise online and had a few items that didn't work out, so I went in store to return them. Was greeted by "what?" at the front by an employee, followed by chaos in the return process. Even though I had online receipt in hand, they refused to refund me without a packing slip (mind you 4 different employees including the manager were called to the front to assist with the return and they were all incompetent, like chickens without heads) all the while antagonizing me and then telling me to "calm down". I was so frustrated that I just decided to leave and return at a later time with said packing slip to get my refund. When I returned to the store later that day, it was another nightmare with them having to match every single barcode number to their numbers in store and acting like I was such a burden and inconvenience. Will NEVER buy from TJ Maxx in-store or online again.
Also, I might add, while I was there they refused an older ladies' requests (came to the front at least 3x) to help load big, bulky furniture into her vehicle. She was still there struggling by the time I was leaving, so I rallied a couple other customers and helped her load them.
No wonder they're closing down stores...
Read moreThought was gonna have a nice day out to buy my girls clothes at Tjmax since my daughter works at the albuquerque one she gets a dicount as well. It was nice actually they had fun tryington clothes.. I kinda noticed we were being followed by Sunny a key worker that was rude of course we do not steal then go to pay cashier was supper nice her name is Aaron...she's a sweet person....Then the supposed Manager Key Girl Sunny very rude and mean towards me as a customer and to my daughter, everyone was staring because of her tone of voice and aggressiveness towards us all because of questions about the discount since I did the application so it should have been 30 percent off with my daughter's accociates discount.. but she said no I can't do that so why did I fill it out to get my credit screwed..she was just plain MAD AS A PERSON ALL AROUND..She's also rude to her employees. They seemed scared of her as well ..Would be a nicer place with a happier manager lady glasses. Very rude in just asking a question she got angry the way she talked to us. I live here in Rio that's why we went to this Tjmax .. I believe she was racial profiling us cause the way we look as well.... My twin daughters even said mom that lady is really mean.... How sad... Maybe sunny needs a job...
