It appears they give a lulewarm reception to folks of color. yawns. I went to the front counter to ask about an ez pass transponder (yes I know Giant Eagle has them) The front mgr lady on evening shift butts in, I wasnt even talking to her. She just says AAA has them in a very short tone of voice like I was bothering her. I responded" i know & i dont do business with AAA because they refuse to stop sending me junk mail". This lady then walks off as I was still talking to go talk to an elderly white cpl leaving the store! I knownthey probably shop there all the time but who cares! So i go get my items in the store, blow thru the u scan & on my way out shes still talking to said couple.
Not worth being mad at lady over cuz honestly I would treat her the same way. Its just that kinda energy in that store. Having a "diversity officer" & more diverse staff would go a long way at at lease putting a band aid over "blatent racism". But I guess were asking too much in 2023!
*Shop N Save was "run out" of St Louis, Mo by a local competitor (Schnucks) who stole their 👑. The same could happen here if they dont get their act...

The last trip in we were told per the owner we couldn't do so and had to take whatever the clerk picks. We questioned this and the hot foods manager Crystal said yes she can't do anything about it. I asked her to call a store manager over to speak to and was told no go to customer service. So I did and when speaking to the manager he said there is no such policy and the customer can pick any item in the case that they want. The hot food manager came over while I was speaking to the manager and asked what's the problem here .. He told her to wait and he would deal with her after speaking to me. Read moreI do my grocery shopping at this location any time I need groceries. Never seem to have a problem with their customer service until today when they charged me for lunch meat but didn't put it in either of my bags. I bought 4 things. When I called to get them to refund my money I was told next time I come in to tell cashier that "someone told me that someone said" I could get this lunch meat because I have my receipt and they didn't give it to me the last time. Umm.... OK? Not sure why my money just couldn't be refunded to my card. If this is the future of customer service there then I'll do my grocery...
