The store offers beautiful products, but the service provided by the interior designers (specifically, Sima) does not match its high-end status. My experience with my assigned interior designer was extremely unpleasant. She displayed rudeness and impatience in our email exchanges. When I sought confirmation on the payment amount over a call, she spoke over me and snapped, claiming she had already provided the information - when she hadn't. She charged me without giving me the final payment amount. Additionally, during the discussion of my payment details, she mentioned something about 'finance or rewards' without explaining what the two options meant. When I requested clarification, she reluctantly and annoyedly provided some explanation. I had to interrupt the conversation to address her inappropriate tone towards me, a paying customer. Subsequently, I had to escalate the matter to the store manager. I am profoundly disappointed at how rudely I was spoken to after investing significant amounts of money in decorating my new home. Adding that she was 45 min late to the initial appointment and promised me designed by Friday, which she didn't send - I had to follow up. During our meeting, she said she can offer me a 15% discount. Then on email she said she can no longer offer it. Then few days later emailed me again to say she got it approved by her manager and can now offer it. Why offer it on the first place of it required managerial approval?? As a result of being spoken to like a piece of dirt, treated like trash, have decided to take my business elsewhere. I am respected at places like Pottery Barn and William Sonoma. I am also cancelling the credit card. I don't understand why it's necessary to be so rude to someone who simply wants to...
Read moreYesterday, I returned hemp sheets I purchased online for in-store pickup. Maria, a manager, attempted to charge me a 30% restocking fee when neither the receipt nor the website stated a restocking fee for bedding, especially as high as 30%. I then asked to speak to the other manager, Hugo, who at first brought it down to 20% and then 10%. He said he could refund me if I purchased something else. I let him know that, based on the customer service, I did not want to buy anything else.
More details: Maria and Hugo made it difficult for me to return my items and tried to use cohesion not to return the item or buy another item. When I first approached Maria, she stated she would charge me a restocking fee. I immediately went to the website, and its return policy and my receipt, and nothing stated a 30% restocking fee. When I shared this with Maria, she said I could return it online for a full refund, or if I returned to the store, another manager could just reject my return. Maria made it seem like I had to accept the 30% restocking fee.
I asked Hugo to speak to me and show me anywhere it stated they could charge me a 30% restocking fee. He could not. Hugo said he was trying to work with me by bringing it down to 20% and then 10%, but I shared that when your policy or receipt does not mention a restocking fee, it's not working with me but trying to coerce me. He said he could refund me if I purchased something or put it on store credit. To me, the store did not want their sales impacted and used questionable practices. I watched a white, older woman come in with bedding and was not treated the way I was. Even though I am an attorney, I was not dressed professionally and felt treated poorly for not looking like their...
Read moreThe Crate & Barrel on Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills is one of the best iterations of the brandâwell-stocked, well-lit, and staffed by an exceptionally helpful team that actually seems to enjoy being there. Whether youâre hunting for that just-right wine glass, a new coffee table, or simply wandering through for inspiration, this location makes it easy to browse without pressure.
Itâs laid out beautifully, with the kind of inviting displays that make you start mentally redecorating your home before you even hit the second floor. The store spills over with a mix of housewares, furniture, and kitchen essentialsâeverything from minimalist dinnerware to seasonal decor thatâs surprisingly well curated. The employees here are a standout: knowledgeable, patient, and refreshingly candid when it comes to whatâs in stock, whatâs backordered, or whether somethingâs really worth it.
That last point matters, because letâs be honestâsometimes youâre paying a bit of a Beverly Hills markup for items that look designer but arenât quite premium in material or build. That said, Crate & Barrel has always lived in that sweet spot between form and function, and this location delivers exactly that, with a little extra polish.
Thereâs even a modest but pleasant outdoor seating space if you need a moment to check your measurements or sip your coffee from one of the nearby cafĂŠs. Overall, this Crate & Barrel is a standout for convenience, service, and selectionâeven if youâre just in it for design ideas and a little air-conditioned...
