When I first started shopping at the Kay’s in Bismarck everything was peaches and cream until I purchased an engagement ring from them. One of their biggest and common Claim is that they send emails saying the changes to the prongs were completed and back at Kay’s jewelers in Bismarck and I have proof the only emails I got were advertisements, they also claim that they will call you with updates on your piece of jewelry. This never happened, when I asked about why I wasn’t getting phone calls I was told that “the call never went through”. When I first sent the ring in to change the prongs because they where scratching and cutting my fiancé and myself, so naturally we needed a solution so I brought it into the store and was told that it would be fixed and with our specifications done within one weeks time. I didn’t get a single phone call nor email about the ring for over three months. When I did call they then told me that a gem had been cracked and the ring should be in the store within a days time, this was the same excuse for the next two times I had called them. When they finally had my ring now four months later. I had made sure that my Mother-in-law and father-in-law could pick up the ring, however they told them that they were not on the account after i specifically made sure both of them were on my account and thus didn’t let my fiancés parents pick up the ring. Skip a few days ahead now my engagement ring is ready and has its gems and the very thing is to order, I came in the store to pick up the ring and they had it and everything seemed fine until I left the store where I hadn’t taken it out of the box and one of prongs in the diamond is bent at 30 degree angle. At this point I’d rather never set foot back into this Kay’s, they are friendly, and have a sense of style but they are NOT customer service friendly weeks turn into months and I got the same excuse multiple times. It’s astonishing to know that a worker looked at my engagement ring and didn’t happen to notice something blaring wrong with a prong then handed...
Read moreUpdated review: I recently went into this location for a ring cleaning and checkup. The associate told me that I needed to speak to the manager, because they could not find any warranty on the band that holds my main diamond. This purchase by the way was 15 years ago. Since this purchase, my ring has been warrantied a couple times and always without fail. However, the new manager in this location was more apt to pointing the blame at previous managers and telling me I could purchase another warranty that would only cover that portion 50%. Never once offered to lookup or make a call to help figure out why after all this time our warranty was now gone. Refusing to give me a regional managers name and only customer service number to figure it out on my own...well I did. And thankfully for the AWESOME customer service rep that went through every receipt in our file found the missing band and warranty. I now have all the proof I need on my warranty, however my trust in this store, in this manager is gone. I will be driving to another location for all my warranty work and purchasing of new pieces. To stand there and throw a past manager under the bus - a great manager - I must add when in fact our ring wasn't even purchased through him - is the poorest of customer service by a manager. Our faith is lost for now in this location. Our faith in Kay Jewelers is renewed and we will be continuing our relationship with...
Read moreI purchased a ring in Rapid city, SD. With a full lifetime insurance policy. The ring was soldered to fit my finger, my ring then broke right in half. I brought it in to kay jewelers in bismarck, they informed me they would order a brand new ring and swap out my old one. As I had full insurance. The ring broke in late July, they said about a month for the new ring to come. I went in the end of August and the tracking number said the ring was in the store, but the employees could not find it. They then said it was missing. So they ordered yet another ring. I was informed it would be here in the very beginning of October. I called and talked to very rude and uninformed employees, and all they would do is apoligize. It's now November and I just got the new ring, and guess what, the wrong size, and now it has to be sent off again. One of the male employees tried to tell me that I had to spend $90 for insurance that was already paid for on the original ring, that's lifetime insurance, I shouldn't have to pay for it again. Thankfully, the manager didn't make me pay. Once again, I'm waiting for a ring. There is only a few employees in that store who are actually helpful, the manager is awesome, but when you have very rude stafd, it ruins the whole experience. I will never purchase any jewelry there, due to very rude staff, especially the young man, who would not even...
