EverSpring Suites — Hotel in Bismarck

Booked a suite here over a month ago using a travel site. After driving over 8 hours we go to check in and they can't find our reservation. I show them my confirmation number and that we had already paid, but the young man at the desk is having trouble finding it. A lady took over and found the number but it was under a different person's name, somebody called Bonnie! So did Bonnie get to stay here for free because I paid for her room?? Or did she also pay for the room and it got double-booked? After some minutes of trying to figure out what to do, the lady told us she would call the hotel next door to see if they had any rooms and we could just move over there without having to pay again. That is what we ended up doing but the hotel next door is much worse than the pictures of this one look like, plus we got a much smaller room which was extremely disappointing. Even though we didn't have to pay again I think we should have got at least a partial refund since we had to stay in a smaller room in a subpar hotel. Also, we were lied to. The lady claimed she has never seen this happen in 12 years but the guy at the other hotel said this happens all the time if you book using a travel site so both hotels use each other to fill rooms when they overbook! If i could give this hotel 10 star... I would! I called ahead to ask Pool hours (6am-11pm for children and 6am- midnight for adults) Yes, pool and hottub are working and are very lovely as is the workout room! Anyway, i asked since inwas traveling and hadn't got to see my children in a month would it be ok if they seam a lil later with me into the adult time frame. They said if no other adults were in there then they sure could. Already this made me happy. But we kept haven minor lil issues pretty late at night since it was a late night check in. But the night worker KENT was so helpful and he is one of the BEST hotel employees ive EVER come across. He helped my son look for a hat and when i say my sister and i musta annoyed him a dozzen times in a short amount of time and he was so great lol. We would honestly visit here again to just hang with Kent hahah but everyone was so kind here and we thought, why not stretch another day/night into the trip lol. My flight got cancelled and I ended up sleeping one night in the Expressway Suites so my observations are limited. The bar/lounge was closed when I got there (just before 9 PM on a Sunday). I was a tad disappointed but the whole city folded so early on a gorgeous May day when the sun was still up! I tried three restaurants down the street and they were on minimal staff getting ready to close. This was shocking since it was Mother's Day Sunday and I thought I would have trouble finding a seat. I actually skipped dinner because the two choices were Panera Bread Drive-Through or McDonald.

Back to the hotel. The room was very spacious, well furnished (bar fridge, microwave, coffee maker, safe...etc.) and clean. The two staff I encountered were polite and helpful. I had an early flight to catch and was pleasantly surprised to see the breakfast room set-up and stocked before 5AM! That made me forget the dispointing night and the noise from what seemed like garbage trucks loading behind the hotel at 3AM.
