I made a reservation for my wife and I at 8:30pm. We were there, we didn't see the hostess until 8:45. She led us to a table that I wasn't comfortable with and brought it to her attention and even pointed one out, that wasn't yet cleaned where I would feel more comfortable and wouldn't mind waiting. No, she said, they have a "party" going on over there. Ironically, within 5 minutes that table was cleaned and she even sat other guests there. Before returning to our table to drop off a bread basket and dump water into our glasses. Not pour, but dump, as she dumped some on the table, and some on the bread basket before walking away. I've had more cordial experiences at waffle house and Dennys! After 10 minutes our waiter, Oscar comes to our table. Oscar, I have nothing bad to say about. His service is second to none, and honestly, professionally a mark above this restaurant. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was great. If you like reds and haven't had "Prisoner", I highly recommend it! Along with the wine, an order of Calamari. I uncloaked the bread and buttered a slice of what appeared to be a rustic whole grain bread. Nope, Raisin bread. Yes, that's right, Raisin bread! Who serves Raisin bread with dinner? I then tried a piece of the white bread, which was stale. Nevertheless, I still had high expectations for things to come. The Calamari was mediocre at best, nothing to write home about, but for $24.95 you would think it should be. Unfortunately, this was the only course that was remotely edible which I shared with my wife. I ordered the NY Strip (medium rare) with a side of potatoes au gratin, and my wife ordered the chicken Madeira. Oscar came back to our table to inform me that the restaurant is out of potatoes. This limited my side options to Asparagus, Brussel sprouts, or bacon Mac and cheese. I opted for the latter. How does a restaurant run out of potatoes? I can see a certain cut of steak, maybe fish, but potatoes? Poor management is the answer. I'll come back to that soon. My steak arrives, over cooked. Still, I took one bite, as I've had an over cooked steak on other occasions that was juicy and tender. This was not The Mac and cheese was bland. I pushed my plates aside, there was no way I was going to eat this. My wife's chicken however was amazing. She gave me a bite. It was truly unbelievably amazing how they can make chicken so dry and chewy. Her plate was almost untouched. I talked to the manager. He took my steak and Mac and cheese off the bill. I honestly don't feel I should have paid for anything but the wine. Needless to say, I shouldn't have spent $192.59 and walked away hungry. The manager should not be allowed to manage a McDonald's, much less a fine dining establishment. The kitchen is open, and you can seek the cooks. Not chefs, cooks. The manager admitted that they currently do not have a chef. I'm sure if they did, the chef would have made sure everyone was wearing hair nets. Instead they have sub par, overpriced slop and a manager that obviously has no idea what entails culinary arts.
Update, just got a response from the owner on my review. No, I will never give them another chance to swindle me on a good meal. I walked away hungry, and still paid way too much for that to happen. Notice in the response there was nothing at all about how to make this this right. Be warned, I guess I will give notice to the BBB and let them know that this is a...
Read moreBooked this restaurant for a double date for Valentines day. When we were seated the waiter told us that they did not have king crab legs or lobster tails that night, but they did have the half lobster tail for the romantic special. I was a little confused as to how you have them for the special but not the regular menu. 3 out of the 4 people dinning were disappointed but we moved on. We ordered soda's and 1 glass of wine which took about 30 minutes to have come out. We then placed an appetizer order. This took about 45 minutes to receive, in the mean time we placed our dinner order and once again was told they did not have king crab legs or lobster tails. 2 of us ordered the filet mignon and the fellas ordered the Delmonico. Our salads came out about 10 minutes before our appetizers did. The salads were great, everyone loved them and finished them. The apps were just ok. Calamari was a little over cooked and had a strong fish taste to it. When the dinner finally did come out only 1 steak was cooked correctly. I ordered a filet mignon med well and it came out well done. both delmonico's came out over cooked. One was ordered med and one med rare. They both were slightly over med well. We asked for A1 to give it a little flavor. Most steak houses don't even carry this but we were offered A1 or Heinz 57. Needless to say that didn't help and neither on of the guys ate but a few bites out of there steak. A manager did come by our table before dinner had arrived and asked us how everything was going. We did express that we were surprised that they did not have crab legs or lobster tails on Valentines day weekend. She apologized and said its not that they did not have them but both there steamers were down and they had no way to cook them. They said there kitchen was too small. We were a little upset when towards the end of our dinner we went to the restroom and noticed the large table by the entrance had a table full of crab legs. That was probably the worst part of dinner was knowing that we were being lied to and in fact they did have crab legs and lobster tails for other tables just not ours. I snapped a picture on the way out since the table was empty and not cleaned right after the party left. This is not a place that we will be returning to. On top of the terrible steaks and being flat out lied to I didn't even receive my reward points for dinning with the restaurant. I should have done my research on the reviews before booking what i thought would be a nice place for a...
   Read moreNot worth it.
During our first time eating here, we had a waitress (blonde) that took a long time to come greet us and give us water, not sure what the reason was but I had to flag someone else that worked there and ask to speak to our waitress.
She took our orders, and I had to make changes to certain things in my order because I can not eat something. Our orders took a long, long time and I was starting to feel a lot of irritation from the hunger. When our food came out, my food was jumbled up (not what I had ordered) and when I pulled her aside she just said to me âsorry, your order was really complicatedâ as if it is not her job to take the correct order⌠she did offer to send it back and have the kitchen change things but I figured it was going to take too long and decided not to.
Oh and the side steamed bok choy was all soggy and had a lot of dirt and rock in between the stems (I found out by chewing on it). A few of the leafs were also yellow (no longer fresh). I understand that is natural for bok choy to have some yellowing leafs and some rock and dirt in it when bought from the store but I definitely wasnât expecting it on my plate.
My partnerâs was not at all medium rare like he ordered. It was so tough and chewy it was ridiculous coming from this supposed âfancyâ restaurant.
My waitress wasnât overtly rude but it was still a frustrating experience.
I ended up here on another occasion and I was served by someone named Jasmine (I think) who was extremely pleasant and helpful. Food also came fast.
However, I realized that it was the kitchen who seems to be getting my food wrong because they also didnât give me exactly what I ordered. When I asked for spinach as a replacement for the asparagus, the kitchen just decided I dont need it because there was a already small amount of spinach in my quina. I asked for it anyway and I got an amount so small it was hilarious (pic).
I got the sword fish and it was also really tough, chewy, and not enjoyable to eat at all.
Overall their food is very meh on all levels. Donât expect to have the right order if you need to change anything at all...
