Before I explain the reasons for the low rating on my review, let me give proper credit to the cashier that first greeted me and my friend because SHE did a great job. The cashier, when we walked in just before 1 pm today, over heard me and my friend talking about the ribbon we came in to get. She immediately directed us to the area of the store where we would find it, before we could even ask, again SHE did a great job! The next employee, who we were asking for help in locating the second item we came for, a pair of baby bootys to go on the diaper cake we were creating. This employee was rude, unhelpful, and appeared to be bothered by my questions. Feeling frustrated already we decided to get the ribbon and just try another store instead for the other item. As we approached the register to checkout the first employee was being sent on lunch by her manager. The manger did not greet us because she was to busy talking to someone else over her store headset. This manager did finally speak to us when she very rudely informed me that she had to cut the ribbon. She then asked me how much I wanted. I explain I was willing to buy the entire spool because I wasn't sure the length needed. She told me she didn't know how much was on the spool and said "we dont usually sell it all, and that the yardage was not on the package". My friend and I then roughly estimated what we would need, as the manager continued to talk to someone else on her headset, asking this person how to cut the ribbon and ring it in to their system. She then cut the ribbon and tossed it into a bag, the ribbon has little fabric balls cascading down, so my friend asked if she could wrap it so it didn't get tangled. She informed us that "she could not do that nor provide a new spool" for us to wrap it ourself. At this point my friend and I were both very upset with her incredibly poor customer service skills, and in general, her inability to help us in any way. I finished the sale, the manager said NOTHING to us, not even the total, or a ending fairwell. We honestly, were left baffled, upset, and confused as to how this manager could ever treat a paying customer this way. Beyond bad service, with the exception of the original cashier. I will not recommend going to th8s...
Read moreI stopped by Michaels in Jackson tonight to grab a few foam boards for a graduation sign, expecting a quick in-and-out trip. Instead, I ran into a frustrating checkout experience. There was only one employee working the entire front of the store. I tried to use self-checkout but needed assistance, and no one was available to help. After waiting around, I gave up and just stood in line for the one open register.
The lone employee was doing their absolute best, but it’s clear the store is severely understaffed. It’s not reasonable to expect one person to manage both self-checkout and the main register during busy hours.
I hope Michaels addresses this—it’s not fair to the employees or the customers, especially during graduation season when many people are stopping in...
Read moreGreat selection. I would have given a better review, but the cashiers at this place seem to think that part of their job is to give a hard time to customers to prove how smart and clever they think they are. I have never understood why so many people believe that lying to and being rude and disrespectful to complete strangers who have never done them any harm somehow proves their own superiority. If anything, it proves how sad and pathetic these people are and what meaningless lives they lead. Just because people don’t say anything, it doesn’t mean they are not aware of what’s going on and what you are doing. It just means that they don’t want to be around you any longer...
