I would give negative if I could. My family and myself spend a lot of money every year at the Dicks in Bloomington Illinois. I bought a $400 driver one day ago. I did not use it at all. I did not like the feel of it once I held it at home for a bit. The Bloomington store would not allow me to return the driver, less than 24 hours later beecause "the plastic wrapping had been taken off the head" and said it had been used, when in fact it had not been used at all. Zero. Zilch. The acting supervisor that I spoke with on the phone refused to come to the front of the store to speak with me in person and told the other employees to tell me that. There was never any angry or nasty language during the phone conversation we had before I arrived to the Bloomington store from either party. When I got there, the supervisor told her employees that she would not speak with me in person because of "how she was spoken to" on the phone. Good news.. I took the club to Dicks in a different city about an hour away from Bloomington . They had the golf manager and the store manager inspect the club and they could not find a "single shred of evidence" (their words exactly) that the club had hit a ball a single time. The manager in this store said that it was "insane" that the supervisor in Bloomington would not come to the front of the store and speak to me in person. The entire staff that I spoke to was in on this ridiculous treatment of a great...
Read moreIâve never encountered a âsporting goodsâ store quite like this one. I am in need of a swimsuitâŚa real swimsuitâŚthink Speedo, Nike, or Tyr. I found such offerings for little girls but the store does not carry womenâs swim gear at all! The website said the store has womenâs suits but 3 employees said the corporate governing body told them to remove womenâs swim gear for some reason. I asked 6 employees but no one could find womenâs swim wear other than a tiny corner dedicated to âfashionâ swim wear. I drove 38 miles based on feedback obtained from the storeâs website. Like most things in downstate Illinois I am now going to have to drive to Chicago and the âburbs simply to buy what should be readily available at any sports store. If you want athleisure clothing or gear for kids Dickâs has it in abundance. However, if you need actual gear do yourself a favor and go up North. The store is awful for anything designed...
Read moreEmployees are average Joe's off the street. They don't seem terribly knowledgeable about their department products. We walked in asking questions about each type of shoes for my brother, and the sales person just kind of pointed us to basketball shoes, we asked for specific sized of certain styles and he brought us a couple different sizes saying they were out of the size we needed but these were closes enough. We asked questions about basketball specific socks, and we just kind of blown off.
In the golf department I got more help from a fellow shopper than any employee...as there were none to be found. So I ultimately decided not to buy. We were here long before closing and the store was moderately busy, but not crowded, not that that should make a difference. You have customers interested in a product intending to purchase a product and asking questions, you the employee should be...
