The new remodel is less than expected. The deli counter with hot smoked meats remains mostly empty. The concrete floors are as basic as it gets. The layout is chaotic, and my fiance had to ask 3 different employees where an item was, and none of them could tell him. in the store can tell you where anything is. I have been shopping here since they built the place, and I am about done. A lot of the stock has switched to generic. Stock of baking goods ran out of some items entirely at peak holiday time. I wanted puff pastry, but it was ALL gluten free. The fresh packaged herbs were multiples of the same three things, and lacking. I am not a fancy cook, but I do like to give it a bit of a go on the holidays. I don't see any benefit from the remodel. My nice, basic good store has lowered the quality of packaged goods, rearranged things hodge podge, has a new deli area that is basically a self serve hot food table, and a mostly empty hot smoked meats display. The produce area is mostly bagged salads and prepared fruit and veggie trays. Fresh vegetables are all over the place, mixed in with the fruit islands. I miss my nice orderly store. I really like the people who work there, most are friendly, and very helpful. I haven't been to the new Price Chopper across town, but feel like I am being...
Read moreBeen shopping here over 20 years alot of good experiences before it was in its location that it is currently in. The place seems to be going down hill 2 out of my last 6 visits I went thru cashier, 2 out of those 6 times I ended up basically having to bag all my own stuff because employees stand around and talk I step up thinking maybe someone will come help because obviously it's alot for a cashier to bag but even managers watch you bag your own stuff. If I wanted to self checkout I'd go there. Doesn't make sense to have all these employees standing and talking when they could be helping your customers who bring you continuous business. My moms even brought her puppy peewee in here since he was a puppy buy for me the experiances are starting to make me rethink my location of shopping. Overall good place but the customer service isn't there like it used to be. I probly sound like a complainer but if there's one customer in line in the morning and 2-4 employees talking and laughing amongst themselves someone should help bag rather than the customer. Self checkouts dang near taking all human jobs and it makes me not even wanna come thru there mise well do the whole process...
Read moreHORRIBLE experience in the liquor department on 11/23 at 2:30 pm. My wife and daughter (18 years old) were in the liquor department buying beer for an Advent beer box. When they went to check out, the liquor cashier demanded to see my daughter's ID., because she was "looking at the different beers" with my wife. She refused to sell to them because my daughter is 18, and they had to call the manager over. The manager was reluctant to sell the beer as well, but eventually relented. WTH??!!!!?? My wife is 47 years old and was the one buying the beer! Who the hell did this cashier think she was denying the purchase because my daughter happened to be with her. This is classic Karen behavior, but from the cashier this time, not the consumer. What an embarrassing situation and a totally ridiculous situation created by a half-wit cashier. I really like this Price Chopper otherwise, but Karen has kind of soured...
