Amazon Hope Thrift Store — Local services in Boaz

Amazon Hope is a non-profit thrift store & proceeds go to further the ministry in the Amazon. Amazon Hope is accutally the name of the boat in the Amazon which the missionary teams take up the Amazon river to spread the Gospel to the people that live there. It's amazing how God supplies what is needed to further this ministry to tell others about the Love of God & how Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins! You can donate furniture, clothes, etc to Amazon Hope, if need be they can even pick-up large donations from your location, just call the store located in Boaz on Hwy431 to arrange a pick up. They also welcome anyone who wants to donate their time to help out. There's plenty to do to keep the store running & do your part in helping this awesome ministry. For Black Friday they had everything in the store including furniture at 50%off they had some really great stuff and there was lots of folks young and old there to get some great deals!! They are open Monday through Saturday so come &. check it out! There's wonderful people that work there&:they make you feel right at home! I used to love Amazon Hope, but I will no longer be shopping there. I was going to rent a dumpster and throw everything in my garage away, instead, I decided to donate it to them.

I called and scheduled a time for them to come out and pick up my things. I spent all night separating everything and put the garbage off to the side.

When they arrived, they asked what all needed to go. I told them everything! There was a good bit and they will make a good profit off of my donation. However, they left a lot of it behind. When I called to ask why I was told they didn’t get it all because they couldn’t sell it.

That was a lie. There was a lot of things they could have sold that were left behind. I tried for two days to get them to make it right and they refused to do so.

These items are supposed to be out of my garage by tomorrow and now I will have to pay a lot of money because they picked what they wanted.

Used to be a great place to shop, but recently when I would go to check out, certain cashiers would take some of the items and put it behind the counter and tell me that it "wasn't for sale" when it clearly had a price tag on it, and no "sold" tag. One even let it slip and said they were "going to buy that". Really discouraging to find something you want to purchase and not know if you'll be allowed to buy it or not. I've been shopping there for 4 years but probably won't be back unless better...
