Matter Brothers Furniture & Design — Local services in Bonita Springs

Anyone in Naples knows there are sooo many furniture stores! We are new to the area and had been to several in one afternoon before spotting this one so we decided to pull in. We were immediately impressed with the selection and the salesperson who assisted us, Teresa. We left there with a lot of good information and some great ideas. When we got home, I checked reviews and I must admit that I was really apprehensive to do business with them because there are several bad reviews. However I also understand how reviews go - most of the time it's the people who are really unhappy who write the reviews and a lot of happy customers simply don't take the time to write one. But the bottom line is Matter Brothers had what we were looking for....good quality at a fair price...so we decided to take a chance and we ordered A LOT of furniture. All of our furniture has now been delivered and from beginning to end, we couldn't be happier! Teresa was so helpful and patient with us while we were making our decisions. Once everything was finalized, the delivery was made within one week for all the items that were in stock and for those that had to be ordered (our sectional), she gave us a window of 4-6 weeks and it was delivered in week 5. The main office called the day before or the morning of with a 3-hour window for arrival and sure enough, the delivery guys arrived right on time. And they were awesome!! We were so impressed by how every piece of furniture was wrapped really, really well so there was absolutely no damage to anything. Then the guys did a great job on the pieces that needed assembly (the bed & sectional). They were efficient and cleaned up all the cardboard, wrap, etc. Please don't hesitate to give Matter Brothers your business. Our whole experience was top-notch! I would like to begin that this was a one time disappointing visit to this Matter Bros store in Naples as my mother who is 98 y/o has completely furnished four houses of her own here in Naples in addition to my sisters house and my sons house.

Yesterday, I brought my mother in to find some small accent tables for her patio, we found one that we liked (was not inexpensive either) and opted to purchase it and inquired as to purchasing another 2 or 3 depending on what they had available. The salesperson made minimal effort to find out if additional tables were available. He informed us that they had none in the warehouse, so I asked if they had more in other stores and could we purchase them through him and have them shipped to the Naples store for us to pick up.

He went to his computer and saw on the spread sheet that they showed individual pieces at the Ft Myers, Sarasota and Tarpon Springs store. When I asked if he would call them and we would purchase them he told me I would have to call each store and pick them up from each store and that Matters does not ship product from store to store. He told me I should take a picture with my phone off his computer of the other store locations and phone numbers and that when I spoke with them I should make sure to include a picture of the table so they knew what I was talking about.

We went ahead and purchased the one table they had and today I have ordered the other two through an online provider for free delivery in three days, yes same exact table.

My mother and I were both very disappointed with the lack of customer service provided by this salesperson and felt it was about the dollar size of the sale and that he did not feel we were worthy of the normal high quality of customer service generally provided at...

Terrible terrible terrible customer service. As soon as I paid for my furniture, they refuse to help with follow up customer service. Richard (supervisor) was my sales person. I had things delivered with scratches and broken. They were to reorder and send to me. It’s has been months and I had to call him 10 times to have him return one phone call just to have him tell me he has no information. Finally, I set up delivery today. No one came out. No one called. They didn’t care we sat around ALL DAY for them to come out. When I called the warehouse, they said they have never heard about putting me on their schedule. I am amazed that with how much was spent at the time of the purchase, Richard and Matter Bros. wouldn’t even return a call or follow up to fix their own errors. Disappointing. At this price point, I wouldn’t recommend using them because after they receive their money, they get amnesia and forget your name or issues they caused. They haven’t delivered the quality they promised at the time of the purchase . There are too many other furniture companies that will treat you with respect as a customer.
