It's hard to say anything about Grain De Cafe. On the surface they look nice and they gained my interest, but aside from slightly overpriced-underwhelming pastries, there isn't much here. The ownership doesn't seem pleasant or supportive. I came here to the reviews of this place, curious of what other people thought and saw that the owner has lurked review sites, ready to scold anyone that doesn't give him a perfect score. sad.

At the drop of a hat, he attempts to throw passive aggressive apologies and states that previous comments were from the previous owner instead of trying to understand the complaint. Laughable.

No doubt this review will be met with disgusting accusations of racism, abuse, or that the complaint is unfounded because this shop is somehow above reproach. You're not.

There is no excuse for having a rude wait-staff, nor inconsistency in your baking. Blaming crowd level, or blaming your wife is neither clever, nor graceful.

I enjoyed the coffee, but it was a bit sour.

-I am not interested in hearing any response or rebuttal from this location. I do not doubt it will be filled with complaining, false-statistic flinging, and deflecting. If you want people to leave good reviews, don't be so unreasonably unkind to those sharing their stances on your coffee-to-go shop.

No stars

Response from them as of 02/01/2017 can be seen below.

As you can see, their inability to take criticism is apparent. I can only hope the respondent grows as a person because...

Saturday 12/29 I took my brother visiting from Sweden to Grain de Cafe. I have been there before and liked it then. This time was a BIG disappointment. He ordered baguette with pate de campagne - it was barely visible! I ordered baguette with chicken salad. The chicken salad was more like a spread, mayonnaise with "pulverized" chicken!!! A thin spread that was barely noticeable and tasted absolutely nothing!! We ordered regular coffee - it was so weak you could see the bottom of the cup! It was undrinkable! I pointed it out to the server who just shook her shoulders and said "ok".....and walked away. If you are trying to cut corners when the snowbirds are here, you are making a BIG mistake! Just remember when the snowbirds leave we are a "few" who live here permanently and your business might depend a little on us. With this quality of food and attitude, I will make sure never to set my foot at this cafe again. If you want a great French place, go to la Baguette...

This place is wonderful! I'm Filipino-American, my girlfriend is Greek-American, but we really appreciate what, we feel, is authentic French ambience. The lady who served us at the register (the owner?) was super nice and sweet. To me, it was a bonus that she had a French accent. She even made a little small talk about herself with my girlfriend, so that really gave us the 'warm-fuzzies'. We have patronized this place several times now, even though it's about an hour drive from our house, one-way. Do not expect low prices, but to my girlfriend and me, completely worth it! I tried eating breakfast here once, but this is not the place for me (for breakfast) since I'm...

I have now visited here twice during my 2-week visit to Naples. The food is so good here, especially the coffee and baked goods. I got coffee, an egg breakfast sandwich on baguette, and an almond croissant. The croissant was perfect, lightly crunchy on the outside, delicious in the middle. My sandwich came with fruit side, beautifully arranged. For my croissant to-go they provided fresh jam when I asked. The details here are on point! Decor is very French inspired and lovely. The service is strong if a bit relaxed, which is good given the large line of waiting customers in the morning.

Lovely little find. I stopped in after a long morning and was quite hungry. I needed a little me-time. I loved the decor and thier very eclectic menu. I was planning on ordering some pastries to go but decided to have a late lunch. The Quiche accompanied by a salad was quit savory with fresh ingredients. I topped off my entree with a Mimosa in a quiet peaceful atmosphere... Just what the doctor ordered! After lunch I took some pastry’s to go and had an amazing chocolate croissant the next morning. This is a must try… Support small business!

Why eat lunch or brunch at a cookie cutter fast food place? Treat yourself to a piece of France right here in Naples, with almost no lines to wait in and great food and cappuccino. Relax on the shady patio and watch the world go by. Oh, did I say that they have almond croissants? Keep that a secret - otherwise word will get out and there will be none left for you and me. Live jazz has been a treat on Sunday 11AM to 1PM, but it is on hold until the piano player gets back from London. You will think you are in a small Parisian cafe.
