I want to start this review by saying the second star is only because most of the people that work here are friendly and apologetic. Being generally nice however is where my good experience stopped.
I picked up my watch a month ago and realized it had stopped, so I figured I'd bring it in for a battery and a link removal since I'd been needing to get that done anyway. After a bit of struggle, they got the battery swapped out and it still would not turn, and said something was likely broken. They could send it off, so I said if you're going to lets get it fixed, crystal buffed, and link taken out, but I want an estimate, this was on 02/09/18, and they said it would take a week to ten days.
After 15 days passed, I called to check on what was up. They said they hadn't heard back yet but would call me. They called me the following day and told me it would be $80 to fix. I approved it, thinking a minor part had come loose or needed repair, sure lets get it done. Another ten days passes and I haven't heard anything, finally I call and say okay just give me my watch back I'm going to take it elsewhere. They were very apologetic at this point and it miraculously showed up two days later.
So I ask to see the repair sheet when it gets back, because the charge came out to $80. All that was swapped was a battery. They charged me $80 for a battery and a dab of wax, and took 20 extra days to get it done. Their response to me questioning this charge was that they had to send it off and "maybe our battery in store was just dead" - which is ridiculous. You sell and replace watch batteries, not knowing if they are dead or having a tester is just insane.
All in all, it took an extra 18 days over the estimate (which was on the watch bag, I'm not sure if I was supposed to see that or not, but scratched out and mid March written on it instead), $80 plus tax, and all I got was a battery swap and a dab of wax. And when the watch got back, after the month they had it, they didn't even take the link out.
If this is any indication of the service generally here I would not bring watches or jewelry into this location. Again, the second star is because...
Read moreI went to take my ring in for its 6 month check and she looked at it for like a second and says oh the side diamond is really loose and has the jeweler guy look at it and comes back and says yeah he says it’s loose and needs soldering on the edge and says to leave it for 10 days. I’m like where is it loose and she shows me I didn’t even see the diamond move. I was not happy and said I’m not leaving it for that long. So she calls the Fred Meyers in Southhill Puyallup and the day like a week. She wouldn’t even clean it!! Standing the diamond might fall out. She tells me you shouldn’t even be wearing it and I should take it there like right now. So the next day my daughter and I are at the supermall and I go to Zales and they look at it. Humm no problems at all and they even cleaned it!! So then on Saturday I take it to Southhill mall with my boyfriend and the manager there looks at it and says looks great and signs my paperwork. I was not very happy with the Bonney Lake Fred Meyer jewelers. My ring is just fine!! Do you really think I was gonna leave my exspensive ring for 10 days,...
Read moreMy husband bought all of my jewelry from Fred Meyer jewlers the last 30+ years. The first thing that happened with this store is the last payment my husband made on some jewelry at the store, somehow got "lost". Fred Meyer Jewelry blamed their credit card company,, which they still use, and the credit card company blamed Fred Meyer Jewelry. It took months and a letter from an attorney to get it sorted out. Now I find out they no long honor the life warranties the sold at an additional expenses. The last straw was taking a ring in to have some work done and the original price was $214 they call 2 days later and say it'll be an additional 250 and if I dont want to pay for it the work won't be guaranteed. I declined and when I went to pick up my ring they had marked it all up with a sharpee and didn't bother to wipe it off. I recommend going to a real jewelry store. The service is terrible and the problems they cause...
