City Smoke Shop — Local services in Boston

I have visited multiple locations of “City Smoke Shop” around Boston and they’re all very similar.

They have a huge selection of glassware, vapes, coils/tanks, rolling trays, lighters, cigars, and other smoking/vaping-related products. You won’t find a bigger selection anywhere else.

Their selection is without a doubt the largest you’ll find. However, I am disgusted by the business practices. Unfortunately, there isn’t much one can do. They have a solid stronghold on vape/smoke shops in Boston.

The biggest issue I have is the blatant price gouging. A Caliburn G2 pod-mod goes for under $20 all day long. They’re charging $60+. Need new coils or tanks? Open your wallet.

Coils elsewhere are $10-$12 for a four-pack. Here, they’re over $30. Need an empty tank for the coil? That $5.99 two pack is priced at $25+. They don’t try to hide it. They frequently have price stickers overlaying each other, with an increased price every visit.

I have been to multiple locations and they blatantly rip the customer off. If you ask for a receipt it doesn’t even list what you purchased. The price on the receipt never matches the sticker on the item. Good luck if you need to handle a warranty claim. And of course, all sales are final.

I plan to start ordering my gear direct from an online vendor. I tried to be a loyal customer to the business. However, the constant price games have put a sour taste in my mouth. I have reached out to many of the brands they sell to make them aware of the price-gouging.

They clearly do not value long-term customers or loyalty. I am all for a business making a profit. However, marking an item up 5-10x the cost is predatory. It makes the customer feel cheated and it is...

Saw this place when browsing around town. Walked in and felt like I walked in to a marijuana dispensary. Like seriously, I stepped both feet in the door and some Indian guy ran up on me and asked to see my I.d. Again I swear I thought I walked in to a marijuana dispensary! So as I was looking around, I asked the man who ran up on me to check my i.d, “when did this place open?” He seemed annoyed and was like “2 months!”. I said “oh ok”. But in my mind I was like “OOOOOOKAY”. I was surprised that no one didn’t ask me if I needed any help. So at that point I looked around for a short period of time then walked out!

Since downtown is usually a hangout spot for teenagers to chill at after school, I don’t blame them for checking I’d cards. But your customer service definitely needs to be improved! Overall nice...

⚠️ warning ⚠️ You need to watch out for price hikes @this location💲💲. I got 2 cigarette cases marked $6.99 each, but charged $7.28 each {68¢ extra}. Plus 2 Pikachu scraps marked $14.99 each, but charged $15.60 each {$1.22 extra}. Plus 2 regular scraps marked $9.99, but charged $10.40 each {82¢ extra}. That's 💲2️⃣◾7️⃣9️⃣ over charged, didn't notice until I looked @receipt. You can't say anything, because ALL SALES ARE FINAL!!!!!😠 You need to watch who rings you up, because you never know how much you're going to pay 😡.

I don't plan on returning there again 😠😡. But if I do happened to return back again, I'm going to look out for price hikes. I'll say something about it, and if they argue with me, I'll just go outside & grab a cop &...
