This was hands down the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I would never recommend this hotel to anybody.
We were staying at the Omni Parker House for my brother’s wedding. We had our two toddlers with us, who were part of the wedding. Our terrible experience started upon check-in, when they told us our room was not yet ready. We ended up waiting 90 minutes in the hotel lobby for our room to be ready. A full 90 minutes post check-in time. Our toddlers needed to nap and were losing their minds in the lobby. The staff told us it was because they were cleaning our room. We found this hard to believe because it was absolutely the smallest hotel room I have ever seen and there is no way it would have taken 90 minutes to clean. It was a very tight fit for two adults and two pack and plays, which the hotel staff should have known we needed because we said so in our booking.
Later that afternoon, a manager approached us and wanted to confirm that we were part of the wedding because they only had us staying for one night. We needed to pull up our email confirmation to show them that we had booked two nights.
We were also extremely disappointed with the design of the hotel room. Not only was it tiny, but there was also only a sliding frosted glass door that separated the bedroom from the bathroom. This would have been fine except for the fact that the bathroom also had a motion-activated light. This meant that when anyone got up to use the bathroom during the night, the whole hotel room lit up. I’m not sure who thought that was a good design.
We also discovered that neither or toilet or TV were working properly. Luckily those were easy fixes.
The final straw came on the night of the wedding. I needed to run down to our room to get something for my toddlers. And my key card did not work. The hotel had deactivated both our key cards and I needed to take additional time away from the wedding to get that straightened out at the front desk.
Unfortunately , we know that many wedding guests had similar experiences. Several people told us there were broken things in their rooms (often the TVs) and other guests also had to wait an unacceptable amount of time after the designated check-in time for their room to be ready.
Though the wedding itself was lovely, this horrible hotel experience really did detract from our weekend. For the amount of money we paid, we would expect significantly better service. It was extremely...
Read moreLet me say, I was very excited about the Omni Parker house when I booked it. I did a lot of research about Boston hotels and the Omni seemed the best location and price for our family vacation. I also joined the Omni membership with this booking because of the Omni reputation. Sadly, I was disappointed upon our arrival. When we went to check in we were told that the hotel had over sold the number of rooms they had and they did not have our room available for us. I know planes over sell tickets, but I had no idea that hotels did that too. We stood at the desk for a very long time waiting and waiting for the desk attendant to come up with an answer. She assured me that they were working on it and would find us a room ("lovely"). After she made many trips to the back to talk to her manager I offered up that we could switch to adjoining rooms. She jumped at that and little did I know she was going to put us into the smallest adjoining rooms that the hotel had! One was so small it didn't even have a dresser or standard desk! The fridge was tucked into the nightstand! It lacked so many amenities it really couldn't be described as more than a room with two beds and a tiny bathroom. The other room was slightly larger, but not much. Neither bathrooms had soap and if you were larger than a women's size 10 or Men's large you would have trouble sitting on the toilets because the bathrooms are so small. ||||The hotel rooms became a joke for our family the entire week we were there, which is not the impression the hotel should have made on us. Luckily were weren't in the room much as we kept busy outside of the hotel.||||The rest of our stay was pretty standard minus the issue we had getting our rental car out of valet the morning we left. We called valet three times with no answer, and then had to go to the lobby where they called additional times. We were checking out early in the morning but valet is suppose to be 24/7 and they attendant clearly wasn't either awake or at his desk.||||The hotel overall was pretty neat and you can't beat the location, but I have to say I will not be looking to book at any Omni locations any time in the near future. I will be sticking with Hilton or Marriot going forward as they have never over...
