Orignal Review: I started going to this shop the beginning of January the owner is very unprofessional in that I’ve made numerous appointments with her and she either shows up too late to where I’ve had to have others do my hair or she’s there and has me sitting around the shop and the process takes 4hrs. Today I walked in for a scheduled appointment at 4:30, I did not leave the salon until 8:44pm. A few Saturdays ago I had an appointment for 8:30 I did not leave until 12:25. I have been transitioning to natural hair since December 2017, on my own I have been developing beautiful curls. I have been told numerous times by workers I need to go back to a relaxer. How do you work at a salon and tell someone their natural hair isn’t the right texture they need to revert back to chemicals? I was charged extra today because “my hair is natural now”. Been here a couple of times, the ladies are all very nice and I’ve always been happy with the service. I would always get a blow out (no flat iron) which is priced at $40 on the booking site. I figured this would vary by hair length which my hair is just past my shoulders so $50 was reasonable. I’ve been to a number of different salons in the area and was never quoted past $40-$50. Fast forward a few weeks later- as I am waiting at the register to pay I see that the owner tells my hair dresser to charge me $60 not $50 which the hair dresser (who I love no complaints) tells her she feels my hair should be $50 which is what I’ve been paying this entire time. Nonetheless, she ends up telling me next time it’ll cost me $60. I know that isn’t her fault so I say ok no problem. Not only did they do my hair mediocre (it was frizzy by the first day already) but of course like any other spanish salon, they talk about your hair in spanish and act like you can’t understand just because you’re black (even though there are black spanish women working there). I had Kenia doing my hair and her and her colleagues were talking about how my hair was difficult to do. the price was supposed to be from 45-55 dollars and we get to the register and she says cincuenta so i’m thinking i’m getting charged 50 something but again her thinking I don’t know spanish charges me a whopping 77 dollars!
