It took me 3-4 years to find a hairdresser in Boston whose work I liked enough to trust my own hair. Too many finished “products” (heads) out there were Easter chick yellowish, too white, too heavily bleached and damaged, or the highlights were so obvious they looked like a zebra. I wanted subtle. I wanted classy and that PERFECT shade of sun kissed blonde balayage that suits my complexion. And I wanted to preserve the health of my hair in the midst of all this - after all, too many dyed blonds complain about hair breakage and dullness.

A year ago I finally found someone who was on the same page - that’s Franki and her work. Our first rendezvous was at a different salon but it was no brainer to me when she switched locations - I will follow her anywhere she goes. Ochoa is a lovely, high scale salon. Ochoa is an airy, open space salon with high ceilings and lots of natural light. Even when the salon is busy it still feels very spacious. I appreciate that Ochoa uses high end products on their clients.

I started to coming to Ochoa when my stylist, Franki, made the transition to Ochoa. I highly recommend Franki as a stylist. She was able to transform my hair after I received an awful coloring treatment. Franki does a very good job color matching your hair with your natural tones. Every time I have my hair done by Franki I always think it looks amazing. My hair looks very natural. I followed Caitie M from another salon when she began working here -- I highly recommend! She is very knowledgeable about hair style, texture, etc. and is always very familiar with any haircut I bring her. I swear she can look at any haircut photo I bring her and instantly break down how to achieve the best version of it with my hair. I've been getting different variations of a shag haircut from her for years and every time it's been fabulous and exactly what I ask for. She is very open to "editing" the haircut as well and will talk through different options if I'm not sure what exactly I want.
