I've been coming to the BCEC for many years now, ever since PAX East moved in. Facility is very nice, many improvements have been made to improve wifi coverage/speed over the past few years and the current system being used is much better than what they were using in years past. Food. One of my issues with the convention center is cost and quality of food. Everything I've ever eaten on site was incredibly overpriced (although this is to be somewhat expected with an expo hall) and absolutely underwhelming. I understand some quality will be lost when you're pumping out food for 50,000 people a day, but that should also be reflected in the cost you pay. The food is the reason this is a 4 star and not a 5 star review. Bathrooms. Something there never seems to be enough of, seem to be pretty consistently cleaned and restocked. They get a little messy at times but I think that says more about the people at the convention and less about the BCEC staff. There is nearly always a person actively cleaning every bathroom I went in and their efforts are not going unappreciated. There does always seem to.be a wait but if you know your way around the building you can usually find a quiet bathroom to use away from the crouds. Access and parking. There is a large lot in the back of the building that accommodates a large number of vehicles, they also offer valet parking out front (although PAX is a very large convention, I'm not sure if this is a standard offering or not) which is a nice touch. I've never had a problem getting a spot, and parking is comparable to what you'll find elsewhere in the city ($18 for the day). Most importantly I'd like to just say thank you to the people working at the BCEC, I'm just someone there to have a good time and you're the people making that a possiblity.

Dishonest thieves and unprofessional scumbags from all I have experienced. I brought my bag like I do at every convention with my fountain pens and security for the first time ever confescated them refusing to let me exit with them and put them in my car. They lied to me and said it was policy or they would have had to hail a police officer and ban me from the property. They told me my pens would be safe and I could retrieve them from the security desk afterwards. I went to the security desk on my way out and they were nowhere to be found, the guard at the desk said there was nothing and the same people at the entrance told me they didn't remember them at all and lied to me saying all confiscations get "Disposed of" but I KNOW those crooks pocketed them with how much they are worth. They got frustrated with me and refused to give me any information and told me to exit the property or again they would hail a police officer. What a disgusting security envoy, they are a disgrace to BCEC and everyone they have served. $32k worth of fountain pens GONE, some being from my beloved grandfather who also practiced the art of calligraphic writing. I hope wherever these pens go they end up in the hands of someone who appreciates them as much as I did.

If you’re thinking of organizing a big event, Boston convention center is the place for it. This venue is likely to take the world lol. Just kidding but it’s big. However, even if you are trying to organize an event for just 1000 people or less, they have smaller ballrooms that you can use for different activities that can take small number of people at a time. Its just beautiful plus the venue is in the city and you can walk to downtown Boston, and other places to see the city. The convention center has 3 levels plus level 0 which is like a basement (if you will). So you can. Say 4 levels. But level zero can be closed and you can use level 1 for registration and use level 2, for your meetings. It’s really up to you though to decide. It’s a perfect venue for me. They are lots so hotels around the venue as well and restaurants with beautiful water view. What more do you need!!

I was here for the IACP conference and enjoyed the layout of the convention center… it’s huge, but easy to navigate. The biggest issue was traffic. Having a conference in such a hi-traffic town really doesn’t work well, especially with such a high attendance of convention attendees. It took nearly an hour each time to get from our hotel to the convention center via the busses the conference hosts contracted. This is RIDIUCLOUS! It’s actually quicker to walk 2 miles than deal with horrible slow busses stopping at every single light, even those not red, which just barely turned yellow. Then add to this the amount of local traffic already on the street – it’s horrible!

Future conventions really need to think about having a conference here as so many of my team mates were not happy at all with this silly slow bus issue and the traffic. They need more hotels adjacent to the convention center to make this easier on tourists and those traveling to a conference here.

Then, the traffic at the convention center was a mess too! The police at the various intersections did very little to alleviate it, rather they let the lights dictate who went next and they waved vehicles thru on green lights, whereas they should have put the lights on flash and manually controlled each intersection. I waited on a rideshare (Lyft) for 20 mins to get thru 5 cycles of a light as it was trying to make a left turn and each cycle, only one vehicle got thru do to...

Impressive building, wonderful architecture with many floors.

I went there for the pax East gaming convention. It was a great event with many different companies that feature the next gaming project that will be coming out either this year or the next two years.

I went there with friend and have to go through security checks and covid vaccine checks before I eventually got inside the building. There were some food vendors and a cafeteria where we could buy what we want. Not too expensive but nothing too appetizing for the food.

I eventually was able to check out two nice games where is called evil West and the other I forgot what it's called but it depicts some kind of shaman or exorcist that goes through a city and talks to ghost and fights some demons that needs to be exercised.

Evil West was by far the nicest game because it had a storyline and a plot line that was a bit interesting. The actual gaming controls were a little bit interesting too where you're more of a cowboy with a gun and you have to be rolling around a bit to a Dodge enemy attacks.

I was able to also view some other games but not play them. Seeing so many different kind of people playing and having fun and cosplaying was a great way to spend a sunday.

I recommend anyone who is interested in gaming to go to a pax East convention and to also plan it out because there is so many things to do but so little time.

Well thanks for reading and...
