Where do I start?

I had a positive experience at their Newbury St location a year or so prior, so I purchased a giftcard during their Black Friday sale. I booked an appointment for a hybrid lash extension set at this location a month and a half in advance since they had availabilities that worked for me. I recieved email confirmations saying everything was all set and another one the day before the appointment itself.

I coordinate my WHOLE day to arrive here early as it is over an hour and a half away from where I live let alone the bumper to bumper Boston traffic that easily occurs. Come to find out, the person I scheduled the appointment with on THEIR website stopped working there a while ago. They persisted in questioning where I booked the appointment as "everyone was supposed to have been contacted" except clearly me. After some back and forth by showing the emails and reciept of purchase, they call someone to come in to do my lashes since I had a trip booked the next day.

An hour passes by and the woman arrives. She has me lay down without asking my preferences for length, thickness, or even style so I take the initative and let her know. Never have I ever had someone do my lash extensions before where they are resting their HAND on one of my eyes while working on the other. YES, she was pressing her hand into my eyes which was not only uncomfortable but also messed with her pain staking work.

By the end of it, I just wanted to leave. My back was sore and I felt like she was stabbing my eye lids throughout the whole ordeal (I've been getting my lashes done for 10+ years and never experienced that before). What makes it even better is that the reason I even started to write reviews was because of a negative lash experience. My cousin went here and got chemical burns on her eyes after she got lash extensions here. The lash tech Danielle not only put the under eye pads too close, but it caused her bottom lashes to rip off completely. Her eyes have been sore and bloodshot red the last 24 hours due to the the exposure of the lash adhesive, and the under eye pads scratching her eyes. As a lash tech, it should be common knowledge that a sealant solution needs to be used after the lashes are completed to bond the glue, but this was not done. Had Danielle used a sealant solution, the lashes would’ve been dry and she wouldn’t have gotten chemical burns in her eyes. The woman at the front desk tried saying that the “sealant was optional” but it’s not. The sealant dries the glue, so how is that an option? Clearly they don’t care. My cousin had to argue for a lower price due to the fact that her eyes were injured after the service. It’s clear to me the safety of their clients isn’t a priority, otherwise all preventative measures would’ve been taken from the beginning. A service that invasive should’ve been done with ultimate care, and it was not. Very disturbed and disappointed to say the least. Save your money and don’t bother getting your lash extensions here unless you want to go through excruciating pain from a chemical burn and corneal...

Covid times call for some overdue pampering. Haven’t felt like myself for a while now and I wanted to treat myself and try something new...and I’m so happy I did!

First impression walking in.....I instantly fell in love. Based on decor alone I knew I was in for a luxury experience, it’s so chic and open I could live here. Most importantly the cleanliness, it’s spotless! It put my nerves at ease with everything going on with covid and I was instantly comfortable.

First visit a tan for my pasty body that hasn’t seen the sun in over a year. I am a big fan of a good spray tan. But this one blew me away. Elyse gave me the most thorough and even spray tan I’ve ever received. (And I have had a lot.) Leaving feeling like I just returned from a Caribbean get away I immediately wanted more from Rise and Glow and booked my next appointment. Up next, lashes. Maya killed it. She gave me natural full lashes and it changed my look drastically. Can’t wait to flutter these bad boys in my next zoom!

Both times I left feeling like a new woman. I’d say It’s safe to say I’m hooked and will be a regular with these two fabulous ladies and their services. Solid 10/10. Do yourself a favor and schedule yourself an appointment. Even it’s just to give yourself a little boost. You...
