I had a very rude encounter with the manager at this location when I attempted to return a defective iPhone battery that was a little over 3 weeks old. After my phone quit charging and would not turn on, I went to the closest iPhone repair shop to my work because as you imagine, I needed my phone repaired as soon as possible. U Break It We Fix It were very personable and explained everything thoroughly. The battery was dead. When I told them where I purchased it at, they advised I call Bulbs and Batteries to see if I could get a refund. I did and was told by the person who answered that as long as I brought the battery in, I would be reimbursed. When I was able to bring the battery in, the manager was the only one working. He was gruff and not very personable. He insisted that I had needed a warranty. When I told him what I was told on the phone, he back tracked and said yes, batteries are covered by a free warranty for a year but that I should have brought my phone into a Batteries and Bulbs to be fixed. He lectured me, mansplained me, completely my explanation as to why I didn’t come in: U Break It was close to my work (I bus to work from Denver to downtown) and I was told by one of his employees it was fine to just bring the battery in. I am a manager in a customer service industry. There is a better way to handle a situation. An apology at the least. And I know as a manager he could have overridden the system. I was polite. He was not. U Break It We Fix It has similar rates and better customer service. Apple stores at least treats their customers...
Read moreHave had a couple of good experiences here w/ pleasant staff. First involved replacing the battery in my key fob...my fob passed the test they have in store and I was a little frustrated, thinking it was something wrong with my car. The guy explained that it was likely still a dead key battery, as the machine tests more of an absolute "is it working or not" - sure enough, replaced the key fob battery and all was good.
Car battery died last Friday and I needed to drive to the airport at 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Needed it replaced ASAP. After a bit of a run around at Advance, took it to Batteries+Bulbs and Elliot couldn't have been more helpful. Steered me in the right direction and got it installed as fast as he could. Price was very competitive with what I had seen around town, too. Really it was just nice to chat with a very nice/pleasant employee while he installed my battery. All-in-all, it took about 45 minutes - he was the only one working so he had to help folks that came into the store...it would've been nice if there were two employees, but with a store that size it doesn't make a ton of sense.
Anyway, will head back here whenever my next battery...
Read moreOver five years I've bought three or four high-dollar (AGM, around $200) car batteries from this store at full retail prices. I know what I want, so it's usually an "in-and-out" deal. About a year ago I bought another Optima with guarantee. Recently it would not hold a charge, in four or five attempts, so I took it back for a credit against a new one.
First salesman was cooperative but said they would have to test it overnight, come back tomorrow. Did that, second salesman says, "We forgot to test it. Come back tomorrow." Did that, third guy says, "It's good, we can't do anything." I took the battery and left.
These people are incompetent. Having messed with car batteries for 60 years, I know what I'm doing, but they blew me off. Look at the other bad reviews here, and you'll see that many others have shared my bad experience. Then B+ responds, "Thank you for your input, we'll improve our training, blah, blah, blah." But the bad reviews just keep on coming.
Stay away, go to the Longmont store, or buy elsewhere.
Edit: Chris wrote below that he would "reach out" to me, but I never heard a thing. So much for follow-up....
