honestly so disappointed. my family loves pho and my mom and siblings came up to have lunch with me and i had heard good things about this particular pho place. my mom and i ordered pho and my 3 younger siblings all got the Stir Fry Egg Noodle dish which is labeled under the Chicken Menu and says it’s served with rice. the portions came out and I had thought they were children’s sizes. they were dismal. the chicken wasn’t even eaten by them because of how oily and slimy it was. i asked if their dishes came with rice or anything and my mom said she thought they were supposed to. we asked and the guy who was cleaning tables came up to help us at the desk and he was so rude, he said that the dish came with noodles, and therefore didn’t come with rice, but it is not stated ANYWHERE that if a dish comes with noodles, it doesn’t come with rice. (i added a picture of their menu that they have currently at the restaurant) it was $16 per order of the egg noodles and it didn’t even fill up my 8 year old brother. they had to get more food after a $82 lunch. the original man that helped us was nice, but the person who rang us up (Be Bu) was awful. we are all japanese and have never had such a rude experience in a supposedly good restaurant.
EDIT It was never stated that because we were getting no vegetables that they would be substituting for more gross chicken, we would’ve preferred the rice that the menu says it has. It was also never told to us before or during ordering that there would be no rice. The owner who replied is stating that my mom is a liar, when it was never communicated to her. My mom and I approached the staff in a “hey just so you know” way and weren’t asking for a comped meal or anything but your staff...
Read moreJust ate at Boulder Pho for the first time and it was awesome. I got it to go, so can't speak for dining service/experience, but the nice gentleman at the counter was very helpful.
Once I put my order in, my food was ready in less than 10 minutes. I wasn't there at a peak time, so that may be why is was so awesomely quick.
I got a medium vegetarian pho and an order of vegetable egg rolls. Total came to about $22 but it's really 2 if not 3 meals. The egg rolls were $9 but came with 6 DELICIOUS rolls, so I found the price there reasonable.
The biggest reason I wanted to leave a review is because I'm a cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy and my poor taste buds have been nuked by the drugs. On bad days I can hardly taste anything at all or things taste as they shouldn't. I also deal with nausea and often have no appetite, but for some reason, pho sounded good. I've learned that if I start to feel a little bit hungry and have a food craving, that I need to drop what I'm doing and get that food.
I was worried when I got home that even though I was ready to eat, that upon eating I might not like it, but I was delighted! Delighted! The strong flavor of the broth cut through my sleepy, confused taste buds and was delicious. The egg rolls were amazing too. It was one of the only meals that I've truly enjoyed in the last few weeks.
Boulder Pho will be a standby for me until I finish chemo at least, but I'm excited to try it when my ability to enjoy food is at 100%, because something tells me it'll be even better.
My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because of the to‐go packaging. There's just so much waste and styrofoam. I should just get comfortable with dining...
Read moreSeat yourself, we did….the place was t busy, but yet it took almost 15 minutes just to get water.
Then another 15 to even attempt to see if “we were ready to order”
My daughter ordered the chicken fried rice, my husband got the combination vermicelli noodle bowl, and I got a combo pho.
The chicken friend rice was disgusting. It was fried chicken theigh with no flavor, and the most plain rice with peas and carrots. Definitely not fried rice. Especially for 17$!
My husbands bowl was so bland and just plain. My pho broth was SO sweet.
We eat a lot of pho. Like ALOT! And this was one of the worst pho restaurants I have ever eaten at.
Service was horrible. The server forgot to bring all the things we asked for nicely, (limes because they gave me one tiny slice, 2 leafs of basil, and barely any sauce for my husbands noodle bowl.
Plus the water was horrible. It tasted like chlorine. It was just a bad experience. And definitely not worth the price.
Go get some authentic Pho elsewhere. I hate to leave these reviews, but food is expensive and when you go out to take your family to get lunch after a long day of softball, you just want to get what you pay for. So I’d love to spare a family a not so great experience, leaving hungry...
