Approximately 2 months before we got married, my wife and I went to C M and spoke with Linda to see if she could make our wedding rings. We had a ring of my late mother and wanted to use the stones, a ruby and 10 diamonds, in our wedding rings. We had some ideas regarding the design and were open to suggestions. Linda was excited to help us design the rings and said there would be no problem having them ready by May 1 when we were leaving for Italy where we would be married. Although we were not stuck on a specific design, we each were very clear about the feel we wanted, what was "us", and what wasn't. We all agreed on the final designs. Linda promised us to have proofs by a certain date and the finished rings at least 10 days before we were to leave in case any changes needed to be made. Neither of these deadlines were met. My wife did not like the initial proof of her ring and requested some changes. Linda kept telling her that the ring was beautiful, that she had spent a lot of time on it, that she had a degree in design, etc. My wife felt like she had to defend what she wanted and that she was somehow imposing on Linda by asking for changes. She felt like Linda was the customer, not us. Linda completed the rings only a few days prior to our departure. Unfortunately, my ring was not cast in the design agreed upon and I was very disappointed. Linda agreed to remake the ring according to the original design but could not get it done prior to our departure. When we returned from our trip my ring had been remade according to the correct design, but I learned after I’d worn it for a couple days that it was larger than the first ring which had been sized correctly. Her solution was not to do the right thing and recast the ring once more, but to insert two small bumps on the interior of the ring causing it to stay in place. At every step of the way she refused to take responsibility for her errors, argued with us over what we wanted, and lay blame on others, us especially. I strongly recommend not using this shop for handcrafting jewelry of...
Read moreMy fiancée and I were above all interested in purchasing something unique for our engagement ring. After shopping in Denver and Boulder and failing to find the perfect ring, we decided to think over our options. Heading to the car, seemingly resigned to selecting a ring without the “wow,” we serendipitously passed Christine Marguerite Designs. We had a vague notion of the kind of ring we wanted, a diamond filigree ring with an octagonal setting, but had not considered going the custom route—I guess we figured it would be too daunting to try. Enter Linda, the proprietress.
Upon first meeting Linda, it was difficult not to be infected by her effervescent personality and her obvious passion for her craft. She sold us on the idea of creating something wholly unique through a collaborative process. We would provide her with the general parameters (including our budget), would afford her artistic license in making our joint schematics a reality, and she would seek our approval at all the major stopping points along the road. She guided us through the process with aplomb, and took great pains to address all of our concerns. The final product was stunning: it seemed to capture everything we wanted without us having known we wanted it. Instead of settling for an impersonal rock attached to a hunk of metal, we took a leap of faith and trusted in Linda and her collaborative process, and in the end we received a one-of-a-kind ring forged, in part, by the very partnership which it is meant to symbolize. We are...
Read moreMy fiancé and I took her engagement ring in to be resized. They gave us an estimate of the following week for completion and asked that the job be fronted for. We were excited when the ring was ready the following day and my fiancé excitedly went to pick it up focused on the fact that she got her ring back. Upon inspection of the ring and wholly assessing the situation we were appalled at the final product. The ring has a pattern that had been misshapen terribly, the ring is now very tiny and flimsy from its original form and a large amount of gold had been removed from the ring. Considering that this was heirloom gold from my grandmother's wedding band I was shocked that the shop did not even OFFER to return the gold, but took it as read that it could be kept. It was a large amount of gold too, roughly a fourth of the gold on the ring by mass. What's more they had the nerve to charge us 60 dollars for this hack job instead of admitting that they could not do the job well.I'm returning tomorrow to collect the gold and a refund for the disservices rendered, we'll never...
