This place has quite a few great reviews and recommendations but unfortunately this was not our experience. They are farm to table which means their menu is ever rotating which I appreciate. But, the food was bland and for their reputation I was caught off guard to the overall quality. We do have a dairy allergy and they accommodated it but it's hard to believe dairy would take that much away from their flavors. Overall disappointing for the reviews and what they are known for. We will not be back. The drinks were the highlight of our "meal". They had vegetarian, gluten free, and were able to accommodate no dairy. The portions are a really good size but the flavor and overall flavor profiles coming together lacked. That night they had duck which ended up being extremely gamey which can turn a lot of people away from game meat because the flavor profile did not compliment the natural flavor. My compliments to the manager that night, he busted his tail helping his bartender, making rounds, and talking with customers. Paid Parking is limited in the area due to the location. They offer a three course meal for $75 and do automatically add 22% gratitude for parties of 6 and up. There is a higher chance of having a wheelchair/limited accessibility in the space but some entry ways might be tight. The resturant ambiance is wonderful! Make sure you make a reservation because they are typically booked out and have only limited spots at the bar but the bartender was extremely...
Read moreSo I know this review is going to be different than a majority of the other reviews here. This was our first time here and we had extremely high expectations as it was highly recommended by a long time Boulder resident. When we first walked in we thought the atmosphere and decor was absolutely charming. Our waiter, Joe was super kind, cool, and funny. He called the accent of the other waiter, douchy which cracked us up because it was. 😂 this added to Joe’s credibility and very relatable personality. My appetizer of gnocchi with white Ragu was absolutely delicious and I would go back for it. However, my entrée had so many issues with it I was shocked it came from the same kitchen. Practically raw carrots that were supposed to be roasted. Unseasoned, assorted vegetables. The salmon itself was cooked perfectly, however. My boyfriend ordered quail, stuffed with lamb sausage, and it was very very dry. The assortment of vegetables that came on his plate were similar to mine. Some undercooked, some under-seasoned, and all of them fairly boring. My dessert was a hard tart shell filled with raspberry custard that was seedy and overly sweet topped with a passion fruit mousse type thing that was lacking flavor on all levels. My boyfriend thought his chocolate dessert was OK however. Our bill with wine and gratuity was $300 and it was definitely not worth it. However, the idea that this restaurant grows all of its own produce, and some of its meat on its own farm is...
Read moreHad a company Christmas dinner there. Nice ambience! The decor was lovely. I especially loved the photo of the beautiful smoking woman situated between the two nude/landscape photos (Boulder needs no more photographs of skinny naked white women in lovely places). The music was typical, however one could actually hear and converse with everyone at the table! A novelty on Pearl Street indeed. The salted radish appetizer was delightful and original. The Tunis lamb was unexciting on its own, however the excellent preparation of the sides (with the exception of the ice cold dollop of saag) elevated the experience significantly. My wife's spiced broccoli entree was dynamite! The red lentil fritter was interesting. The spice cake was good, but made great with the poached pear. $65 for the three course was entirely reasonable. The wine list was solid. Plenty of options for the common & pretentious man alike. Service was very attentive. I left very satisfied with the experience. Bramble & Hare was my first sit down dining experience since the onset of the pandemic. Perhaps the food was too rich for me. Perhaps my exposure to the industrial coatings I use daily at work, yet outlawed in Europe, was higher than normal that day. However, I suspect it was the ice cold dollop of saag that was to punish me for it's consumption long into...
