Extremely comprehensive review so future customers can make educated decisions!

I did not do enough research. I saw the 4.8 stars and excitedly booked my first permanent jewelry experience with Love Saro without looking into the negative reviews.

I'll start with the positives: The venue was extremely cute and aesthetic. Why does this matter? From a psychology perspective, clients make subconscious judgements upon entering a store, and having good vibes can influence decision making. We can assume that by having booked appointments we as customers have already made the decision to purchase their jewelry, but the fun & luxe aesthetic feeds into the excitement of the appointment and can potentially influence spending decisions while in the store.

We were greeted with complimentary refreshments as we waited. We enjoyed champagne in a cute pink glass, which was a nice touch that again feeds into the ambiance and excitement, as well as impulsive/disinhibited decision making.

They had a very large selection of high quality, and beautiful chains. Our staff person made suggestions of which would work best for our needs (bracelet on arm with a smart watch, or anklet, etc). We laid several across our wrists to decide on a chain. Then she measured us and provided a quote.

Negatives: As you'll see in the feedback from the owner to the other negative Google reviews, their website states that gold chains begin at $31. However, they do not disclose the prices for individual chains on their website, which vary WIDELY. I had calculated an estimated cost in my head based on the information from their website prior to making the appointment. My quoted price was double my estimated cost (nearly $600 for an anklet).

The quotation price happens after you have already spent quite a bit of time in the appointment deciding on chains and getting excited about your new jewelry piece. Additionally, as noted above, customers have already been influenced by their excitement and decision upon making an appointment, the atmosphere of the venue, and (if partaking) the complimentary drinks, which can make it difficult to say no on top of the fact that socially, humans are uncomfortable with confrontation and self-advocacy, and it can feel embarrassing to admit that something is outside of one's price range.

I mentioned to our staff person that the price was not within the cost that I had estimated for myself. Her response was that the chain she recommended for an anklet was less dainty than the one I came in originally wanting, and therefore, cost more. She suggested I could switch to silver to save on cost.

Ultimately, I felt pressured to spend a lot of money that I was not prepared to spend. Did the staff person tell me that I HAD to purchase the anklet? No. However, the social pressures of being with another person, the excitement I already felt for the piece, and the marketing/social disinhibition tools (i.e., alcohol and ambiance) made it very difficult to back out. The owner has responded to negative reviews saying the quotation price is part of the process and they don’t oblige customers to purchase. I hope I’ve made it clear how the process as whole can make a customer spend more (or feel pressured to) than they anticipated.

Recommended feedback to the owner: Accurately reflect each of your chains on your website with pricing per inch. I understand total price varies depending on size, but give customers a chance to make a more educated decision before booking an appointment. Transparency is so important.

Takeaways for prospective clients: Do your research and know that not every permanent jewelry provider charges per inch. I have since gotten two additional, high quality, 14K gold pieces elsewhere for less than $200 total.

This is a fun experience and a luxurious take on the friendship bracelets of our childhood. I will absolutely continue getting permanent jewelry. If cost is not a factor for you, I would recommend Love Saro as the experience as a whole...

My daughter and I had a really lovely time with Sacha in her studio, and we walked away with sparkly keepsakes and something new to look forward to doing together.

Sacha’s permanent jewelry is unique because you have the freedom to design your own piece, linking different chains and gems. I haven’t seen that done in other studios. She does such a thorough job at walking you through the many possibilities and describing how the look can evolve over time.

Initially, permanent jewelry was something that I was interested in for myself, but I got to thinking that it could be something unique to share with my 9 year old, while also letting her feel like she was doing something a little more “grown up.” Sacha’s studio is warm and inviting, and she took extra time to break things down for my 9 year old. She also allowed her to check out her sculpture work and crystals while helping me get the exact right look with my necklace. She was patient and really made us feel welcome in her space.

This morning, looking at the beautiful permanent jewelry that we got last night, my daughter and I are so happy to have had the experience. And we’re both IN LOVE with the way our jewelry sparkles and fits so perfectly. We’re already talking about what we’ll do next time we visit Sacha and Love...
