I loved everything about this BnB. The room itself was incredibly relaxing and comfortable. The pictures on the website were already gorgeous and reality did not disappoint. The space was large enough for a lounge area with a pull-out couch, fireplace and idyllic view of the surrounding garden so hanging out in the room was really enjoyable while we had breakfast and coffee.
The contactless check-in made it easy to get to the room without any hassle. The room had everything we needed - from toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hairdryer), to drinks (coffee, creamer, tea, sparkling water), to snacks (fruit, yogurt, home-made granola) to chopped wood prepared for the fireplace.
We went out to Pearl Street for dinner which was a scenic, short walk from the Guest House. I had no idea Boulder had so many wild flowers everywhere, even in town! Honestly, the number of cute shops & restaurants nearby was a bit overwhelming. Since the Guest House only has four guest rooms, it was incredibly easy to get questions answered about the Zen Center from staff along with getting wonderful recommendations for dinner, nearby hikes, etc. They were all very friendly and available when needed.
Loved my stay here and would definitely return when I'm back...
Read moreI perfect mini-retreat! The grounds are lovely, the room was beautifully appointed and the bed was a dream (I meant to ask about the pillow, too! I need one at home). As you can see from the map, it's a great location to enjoy Boulder. In addition, there is a bike rental station across the street, which makes it easy to be car-less for your whole stay. I stayed for 3 nights, but wish it could have been 10. You know those places you love so much you both want to tell everyone AND you just want to keep it to yourself so you can always go? Well, that's the Boulder Guest House for me! I knew the property as a BnB for years and was looking for a spot to just regroup for a few days. Ideal to say the least. Little did I know, it was now in the hands of the Boulder Zen Center! As a practitioner, I was grateful to be situated right above their meditation space (zendo) where cushions were made available to sit in stillness. And it is especially nice to be surround by others who practice meditation to enhance the overall peacefulness I was seeking. As a local, I'll make this a regular retreat destination on a regular basis, but don't tell all your friends because I need "my" room...
Read moreI absolutely loved my stay at Boulder Guest House. It was peaceful with a lovely garden and beautiful zen style room. The material of the blankets and pillows were high quality, and the mattress was so comfy that I never wanted to leave! There is organic fruit available all day as well as yogurt and delicious homemade granola with multiple milk options. The building is also high tech—my room had a very fancy and quiet air conditioner that worked well despite hot weather outside, and so many streaming options on the Roku. The building also has solar panels on the roof, which I appreciated, and composted. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion are all provided, but it’s not like a normal hotel—these are all natural, and much higher quality. Shower pressure was great. There was also an amazing library of books from which guests were welcome to borrow and read while lounging in the garden or in our rooms. Most of all, the staff were lovely, and clearly work very hard to create a place where cozy meets sacred, and kindness is everywhere. Thank you Boulder...
