Brooklyn Pizza — Restaurant in Boulder

Absolutely horrible experience, I was doordashing there last night. They were extremely verbally aggressive towards me(yelling and screaming at me no joke) all because I had two separate doordashes. had to pick up both orders to be able to deliver the food but they refuses to give me the second order because "the pizza had to be fresh or they are shut down". I litlerally was not able to deliver the forst order unless if I picked up both or canceled the second one. That is how it is when delivering for doordash. Absolutely disgusting the way the treated me. I haven't even mentioned the fact they have flies all over the place and I wonder how the health inspectors will feel when they learn they DONT USE GLOVES to prepare there food. Horrible place, I hope the owner reads this. I know the customer isn't always right, but the owner isn't always right as well. (And yes, it was the OWNER of that sad establishment that literally was screaming at me for something I couldn't when control) I ended up leaving and canceling the second order I had just so I could deliver the first one. It would have taken them another 5 or so minutes to make the second order and have me out the door delivering both. They both would have still been warm and fresh too. Absolutely a horrible pizza place and don't go there, please don't. PS- I was also nothing but respectful to them and even tried to reason and show them why I wasn't able to do what they were screaming at me to do, but to no avail they refused to listen to me. They also have a camera in there, im pretty sure at least. They got that recording just to prove I'm not lying about all of this, but who knows. I hate to post a bad review against a small business, but we're never planning to return to this pizza joint, and they could really use the honest feedback it seems, so here goes. First of all, I'm sure the owner and staff are nice and friendly. I can't really speak to that because we ordered a pizza online for delivery, which came in a reasonable timeframe. The pizza came and here are our main concerns: 1.) the 'large' pizza is pretty small - no where near the XL slices you find on the East Coast - too bad since it's called 'Brooklyn Pizza' leading one to expect a fairly substantial slice in hand; 2.) the canned spinach on the pizza was nasty - we ate it because we paid good money and were quite hungry, but I'm pretty sure the spinach was old and possibly not safe for consumption (would suggest they put on fresh spinach but that's just my 2 cents); 3.) there were several large bare spots without any cheese and a sparse amount of tomato sauce to boot (I didn't think it was going to be necessary to order 'extra cheese' but you might want to go with that if you do end up ordering pizza from this establishment); 4.) overall, the pizza was pretty boring and left much to be desired. I have actually doctored up frozen pizzas that taste better than this one. And with that said, I'm really startled by the volume of great, 5 star reviews - people, you deserve better than this! The pizza really ain't that good. If this really is the best pizza you've had, I feel sorry for you. We ultimately did consume most of the pizza which is why this is a 2 star review instead of 1, but at the end of the day, this would be a great prospective establishment for Gordon Ramsey's 24 hours to hell and back. Long-time pizza tester and self-proclaimed pizza aficionado here: I have had the opportunity in my life to try pizza from both the US and Italy. In addition, I have much experience making pizza from scratch. Let me tell you: I cannot comment on the other items in their menu, but Brooklyn Pizza's pizza margherita (I had mine with mushrooms, basil, garlic) is an admirable and exceptional attempt at this classic pizza. It is thin and crispy, but does have a slight chew. Delicious of course (especially with the added garlic!) Within the last 20 days, I have visited this place three times, each time incredibly satisfied. The third time being their best pizza of the three. The pizza chef was a young man, he did an amazing job. It is so nice having a local pizza place that knows what a good pizza margherita should look like. Also during those last three visits, the pizza chefs placed fresh basil on top of the finished pizza when I arrived to pick up my order.
