Two Sole Sisters — Local services in Boulder

Walked in because my friend saw boots in the window. When we walked in, greeted nicely however quickly the lady had a annoyed tone when we just said we were browsing. My friend doesn't like pressure when shopping so we went straight for the taller boot styles in the back. Knowing the kind she wants she knew instantly that's not what she wanted. Great looking boots though! Willing to spend a hefty price we walked out continuing the search. As we walked out, I overheard the clerks say something about how she's hates when people just come in to look and buy nothing. I wanted to go back in a defend myself. But instead the rest of my trip to Pearl Street was hindered thinking everyone in this town is like this clerk. (Don't worry I'm know there's shitty people everywhere) So she had her rant and opinion of three girls on vacation from Utah that she's has never met before. She said it loud enough so she wanted me to hear right? Well it's not cool. Great store, horrible employee...

I felt like this was necessary to share, as for I think it's something that shouldn't have happened and I could've been reading into the situation. But unfortunately, I don't think I was, I went into the store today and was looking at shoes and was only greeted with a simple hi. And was watched as I looked around at shoes with me and my boyfriend. We are both people of color and as soon as I walked in I just felt super uncomfortable with the vibe. Then what really secured that feeling is when a white customer came in and was greeted with the upmost kindness and was talked about the shoes that they have. I'm hoping that this was just a misunderstanding and it wasn't what I thought it was, but I really hope in the future this won't...

Absolutely love this place! Stumbled upon it about 10-15 years ago when I first visited Boulder. Bought a phenomenal pair of boots, then… this time, came away with boots, a handbag, and jewelry. Couldn’t help myself, as everything is top quality, so stylish, and priced fairly. Plus, the saleswomen, Robin, Rachel, and Casey, are all lovely and so helpful. I enjoyed their non-sales-y bedside manner and fun rapport. They even gave me advice on where to hike! No doubt, I’ll be returning the next time I visit...
