On Saturday, January 8th, 2022 I went to AMC Braintree 10 to see the movie SING with my friend and her son. We had problems that started online, my friend had gift cards that could not be processed over the website to purchase the tickets or preorder the food/drinks. It mentioned that they must be used at the cinema if they were older cards. So, she purchased tickets online without using the gift cards and waited until we got to the cinema to use them on the food/drinks. When we placed our order for the food/drinks my friend explained that the cards were old but stated how the website said they could be used in store. The employee that rang us in tried two different gift cards and claimed their was no balance on either card - which there was because they had never been used. The employee then took both the cards and threw them in the trash without trying to solve the problem or even giving the option to return the cards.
Again, my friend used a different form to purchase the food/drinks. When we arrived in the theatre itself, the chairs were sticky and the cupholders still had popcorn in them from a previous showing. The movie we saw was GREAT and the experience wasn't terrible until I went into the ladies room to find toilet paper and trash all over the place, and as a female, I know the ladies rooms are never really clean. My problem was the amount of employees that were sitting around that could have made sure they weren't in that condition. After I went to the bathroom, I went to order my own food. I ordered the kid's pack, which the employees all seemed to be making differently, some used bigger popcorn bags while the others used smaller ones. The employee that rang me out took my $20, and handed me change back $11. I hadn't noticed until I got to my seat that he didn't even attempt to give me the full amount back (total= $8.66) I should have received, $11.34 back. But I said to myself, it's only $.34 cents but he never even explained why. Then I saw reviews for the cinema in which this has happened to several people there. When I worked in retail I would never shortchange my customer, no matter the reason. This place needs a...
Read moreGeneral manager there is the worst human being ive evert came across. Last night i purchased 2 tickets for the conjuring last rites movie. Got there and 2 ppl are sitting in my seat, no biggie move to the next, sit on the seat next end up sitting in a pile of ketchup , and the seats didn’t even recline!!! Fed up i go to customer service to get help and refund, general manager cant lookup my ticket bc i didn’t have confirmation number, and the bar code wasn’t working, there was some issue w my tickets. So i asked general manager for a voucher or anything to help the situation. Yk what she says? NOPE im not willing to do anything to help remedy this since u purchased the tickets from atom as opposed to directly in our website. I PURCHASED FROM THE WEBSITE FROM ALL I KNEW. Here is a thing abt purchasing tickets for a basically sold out movie, sometimes it crashes and it WONT let u order from amc directly itll give u an error page so u HAVE to go 3rd party or in person, so my ONLY option was using arom which was a suggestion from amc itself!!!!!! She basically says “call them i have nothing to do with this” acting like the letting us watch this movie another day was gonna take money away from her paycheck. I was a manager for 3 years and i neverrrr im my career met someone like that. My general manager would have fired her on the spot for how she treated me. There was no compassion, my night was ruined and all she said was “call customer service from the place u ordered the tickets. meanwhile i showed her proof i purchased the tickets AND I OFFERED TO SHOW MY BANK ACCT . She said she didnt care what was on my phone, only what her system could see. I begged for an exception since i paid $40 on tickets and she flat out said “no” i hate her and i pray she gets fired. (Guys all this happenning while my new pants were STAINED WITH KETCHUP, she doesn’t even keep her theaters clean) please amc fire her she’s incompetent...
Read moreHadn't been to the movies since 2018, but the experience is mostly unchanged from what I remember. Same sticky floors covered in popcorn, same bratty children babbling during the movie, same apathetic teenagers working the concession stand.
The prices, however, have gone WAY up! For three snacks and two drinks, my party paid almost 40 dollars, which is absurd. We could've gone out to eat for less.
Another thing that bothered me was how unclean the drinks area was. Do people not know how to be considerate of others and throw away their trash? Do they not know how to refrain from making a mess? And do the staff not know how to manage spills? Judging by how my shoes stuck to the floor and how many kernels of popcorn I had to step on, the answer is unambiguously a NO. There had to be a higher volume of soda syrup on the floor than in the machines, for crying out loud! It was that bad. This is part of an ongoing trend I see in all public places. People just do not know how to be respectful and considerate of others, and seem to have no standard of orderly conduct. But then again, it's 2023, I can't expect anyone to care. sighs
Speaking of conduct: there was one very disruptive group of children in my row and the parents didn't do anything to quiet them down. They weren't even watching the movie, they were running around and playing in the front row and watching Cocomelon or something on their tablets (with the volume on!). I want to believe that there is hope for the next generation, but if this example is of any indication, I guess we are doomed. And we have the parents to thank for enabling it. Again, part of a larger trend.
So yeah, not a terrible experience but not a great one either. If anything, it was just a little...
