So let me just preface with the fact that Iām not the type to write reviews, but this was a pretty frustrating experience.
I came into the store this weekend while the store had extended hours, and I got there just after 8pm. The guy (super kind and respectful) who checked me in said it would be about an hour, and that was what I figured. So I shopped around for a bit. Around 8:30 I checked the link just to see where in the process I was. It was still in sorting, that was fine I didnāt mind wandering a bit longer since it hadnāt even been 30 minutes. At 8:55 I saw my clothing bag was on the shelf with the buy receipt on it. I went to the register and asked if my buy might be done and the link just might not be updatedāand I was directed to a girl who only said ādid you receive a text yetā to which I replied āno not yetā and she didnāt hesitate in replying āthen itās not done yetā. I found that pretty rude considering Iām perfectly capable of reading the instructions, but thought okay fine maybe there is something that is still processing behind the scenes. Well, fast forward to 9:30 and the store is closing. I go to check out and let the guy(another guy, also nice) know that I still had a buy in process. He goes and grabs the bag, and very politely explained they had to pass on all of my items, etc. Again, he was warm and actually spoke to me like I was a customer. (ZH was on receipt if that was his logināso please make sure he gets kudos). And listen, I donāt care that they didnāt buy anything I was just stopping by with my leftovers from uptown cheapskate. Which by the way was and always isāa completely different experience. Iām not trying to be that guy, girl, whoever ābut they are prompt when items are done and they are all friendly and kind to their customers. All she had to do was say āusually you get a text, but let me checkā. Instead she wasted my time and truly her coworkers time, because they were trying to clean up the racks but I was āshoppingā until close. Maybe she was tired it was the end of the day, but I am always super mindful and kind in how I speak to people so I know I didnāt have an ounce of attitudeāso I didnāt deserve hers. Platos. Coincidence, I think not as the employees are a group of wannabe cool kids that struggle with the definition work ethic. Hint, it is more than merely showing up on time. I am by far materialistic, however I do wear name brand clothes. I take care of my clothes, especially my shoes. I had a bag of shoes that included Vans, Pumas, Adidas, Doc Martins, and Nike. Even the oldest pair in the bag looked as good in quality is the newest but they didn't even open the bag to look at a single pair. I watch while I was waiting only to witness them buying not 1, but 3 worn out pair of sneakers from Walmart. So when I was told they we're only taking new items with tags I laughed. When I questioned them if they honestly looked at what I brought in, instead of telling me the truth which was I didn't feel like going through all your stuff, they proceed to word vomit another lie as they purposely made a scene to appear as I was cussing at them. But I assure you, I was raised with manners, and much rather make someone feel dumbfounded then do something like swear in public with kids around which makes me look like a jerk. Well kudos to you Brandon Platos, you succeeded at making yourselves look ridiculous. I will send you the amount I get when I visit a different location, and prove that the kids at Empire Records worked...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHORRIBLE customer service!! If I could give 0 stars I would. First, I walked into the store to sell some clothing. I was told it would be about 20 minutes while they went through everything. An HOUR later I had heard NOTHING about the status of my clothing. When I went to the counter to inquire about the hold up I found 3 employees just hanging out at the front of the store doing nothing but gossiping. I stood at the counter for over 10 minutes before I was even acknowledged, and then when I finally was acknowledged the girl was incredibly rude. Apparently my customer service needs were invading her social hour. At this point I was informed that their computer system was down so they couldnāt purchase my buy. Umm... were any of you planning on informing the customer of that while I sit here and waste my time? Or again was I interrupting your social hour by expecting you to do your damn job? Nobody could give me an ETA as to when it may be back up and I was informed that I could just wait... I left because I didnāt have all day to just wait and experience anymore of this absolutely horrendous customer service. When I drove back the next day I received an entire $7.63 for all of that nonsense. And again when I went to pickup my buy today the same girl had nothing but a nasty attitude and zero customer service skills. I never received an apology of even an acknowledgment of the bad customer service or rudeness. Save yourself the hassle and find a different Platoās Closet. This store SUCKS!! Hire somebody with customer service...
