My mother came here based on the great reviews on Google. She had been hospitalized after an injury and needed short term rehabilitation. I’ll start by saying the PT and OT staff were great. I have nothing but thanks for that group, who got my mom back on track quickly. Now onto everything else. The staff brought her the wrong paperwork, meant for other residents, MULTIPLE times. Care plans and medical records. They asked her to sign things that weren’t for her at all. Then a doctor came in, didn’t interact with her at all, just read her chart and accused her being a drug addict and offered her a fentanyl patch. She was confused. Understandably, because IT WAS NOT HER CHART. Once he found her chart, he instantly started recommending an increase in her (non-opiate) pain medication, to max out the dose, even though she had just finished telling him that she felt good about the dose she had worked on with her doctor from the pain clinic. Gee, I wonder why people become addicts? I found this whole interaction, and the overall stay disturbing. When it came time for the care plan conversation, 1 week after she arrived, they were clearly focused on maximizing the Medicare payments and much less on getting her back on her feet and home again. Luckily she was ready (thanks again to the PT and OT staff who supported and encouraged her) and we said she was leaving asap. She’s home now and back to normal life, happy to know she’ll never return to this...
Read moreWhen I came to Pine Heights I was blind in one eye, unsteady on my feet, and very nervous about what was going to happen to me. I live alone, my children are 2 and half to three hours away. The Pine Heights staff was amazing, the made you feel welcomed, plus they have a very relaxing atmosphere. 2nd floor has the 2 most incredible ladies who work so hard but never one time have no patience for their next situation , what 2 great dedicated employees. The rehabilitation department is second to none. These ladies changed my entire attitude and physical health. I can not thank Deb, Erin, Jen, Michelle and our Aubrey enough. After 4 weeks, and still following the handouts for physical and occupational therapy, I shower and shave every day, along with walking and therapy with rubber bands, 4 times a week. THANK YOU. To Rose and Robin, thank you for making the rest of my life possible . Love you all, Never forget,...
Read moreMy husband, Gordon who is non verbal and suffers from right-side-weakness due to a severe stroke some years ago, recently spent 2 weeks at Pine Heights. His doctor determined that he needed more intensive physical and occupational therapy than what he was getting at home. His stay there not only helped him regain his strength, flexibility and confidence, it also allowed him to interact socially with other residents especially during meal times in the dining room.
In addition, the staff attended to his every need professionally and with kindness and compassion. One aide, Robin, paid particular attention to him helping to make his stay most enjoyable.
All in all, Gordon greatly benefited from his time at Pine Heights and came home stronger and more confident than before. I am very grateful to everyone involved in Gordon’s care and rehabilitation at Pine...
