I placed an order at 6:00 pm for a $25 salad and at 8:00 pm after still not receiving it, I called the restaurant. I was told the delivery driver couldnât find me. I work at Latchis Hotel and Theater. I gave very explicit instructions of how to find me. Latchis hotel and theater is basically the heart of downtown Brattleboro. Itâs rare no one can find it. After 2 1/2 hours I finally had my salad delivered by someone who knew where we were. I talked to a manager named Billy and he tried to appease with a dessert of cheesecake. This did not satisfy me at all. I wanted a full refund as by now my salad had been out in the heat too long. He said he couldnât do that but would give me new salad on the next night I work. I did not accept this offer as I wanted the sale now and may not want salad on the next night I work. I told him again I wanted a refund for my dinner. Billy said no can do as he has proof the driver tried calling me and that I did not leave delivery instructions. I reiterated exactly what I said for delivery instructions. Billy argued with me. I told him I never got a call from the driver which I had not and by now my salad was no good. Billy called me a liar and told me I was wrong. I asked him if he had ever heard of the customer is always right and he said no. Not when he has proof of the driver calling me and me not leaving directions of where to deliver which made me in the wrong. . He then said he was going to text me proof that I was wrong and not refund my money. I never received a text from this man or a refund. I will not order from them again as long as he is manager. He has a very bad attitude and obviously knows nothing about good customer service. I like their food and have been ordering from them for many years. This ended it for me. He is rude and should definitely not be a manager, anywhere! I never even opened my salad. Let's begin with the customer service â it was shockingly rude. From the moment I placed my order to addressing the issues that ensued, the staff's attitude was far from accommodating. It felt as though my concerns were met with dismissive responses and a complete lack of empathy.
The real disappointment came when my order finally arrived, only to discover that it was incomplete. Several items were missing, turning what should have been a satisfying meal into a frustrating ordeal. Naturally, I reached out to the establishment, hoping for a swift resolution.
However, my attempts at finding a solution were met with resistance. Despite clearly pointing out the missing items and providing evidence, the staff refused to acknowledge their mistake. To add insult to injury, they adamantly refused to issue a refund or make any effort to rectify the situation. This lack of accountability was truly disheartening.
What pushed me over the edge was their unprofessional conduct during our conversation. When I persisted in seeking a resolution, the staff went so far as to hang up on me. Such a blatant disregard for customer concerns and basic courtesy was both shocking and disappointing.
In summary, Vermont Inn Pizza not only failed to meet basic standards of customer service but also demonstrated a complete lack of integrity in handling mistakes. I tipped the driver because I don't like to punish one person for what could be a collective failure. Before he left. I realized my entrée was not included in the delivery. I let him know I was missing an item and he checked his car. After finding that it was not there, he said he would be back. At 9:40 pm I called for an update and there was no answer. I called a second time and left a message. They close at 10:00 pm, so I was hoping to hear from them. At around 10:15, I received an email request to fill out a survey, which I did. I checked the box to receive reply. I did not hear back from anyone regarding my complaint. On Thursday I called to ask what had happened. Their response was that they had a note about the issue and put a credit on the phone number that placed the order. I asked why I was never notified and why my credit card wasn't credited. They stated that they don't respond to voicemail and couldn't credit the card back the following day. I asked why I wasn't notified of the credit since they clearly had my number and there was no clear explanation. I asked for the item that I ordered be prepared for 5 pm when I get out of work. I picked up the order and asked to speak with the manager and/or owner. The manager was the person I spoke with on the phone and the owner was feet away but didn't come forward to address my concerns regarding their failure to communicate.
