Buh buh buh buh, I guess you're Brux what I needed!

My first soiree into all things waffle, this Bruxie location is located in Downtown Brea.
I've kept telling myself to hit up the OG Orange location since it opened many moons ago, but nothing gave me the impetus to finally make the jaunt over there. Plus, hearing how bad parking is didn't motivate me ,either.
With my fresh $5 coupon in hand & reading how the Brea location has decent parking, I visualized Kelly Clarkson singing "some people wait a lifetime, for a moment like this", as I made my way to Waffle Wonderland.
Being in a meat coma for the past few days, what with grilling ribeyes on July 4 & then pork belly July 5, I knew I needed something light & refreshing.
Enter the Smoked Salmon Lox & Dill Cream Cheese sammich ($8.50) Michel Cordon Bleu cold smoked salmon with herb cream cheese, cucumbers & chives. Crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside, the Belgian waffle was a delightful alternative to a baguette. The smoked salmon lox & cream cheese were tasty & refreshing, with the cucumbers adding a soothing texture to each bite. Chives perfectly complimenting the waffle sandwich. I was not disappointed. No, ma'am!
I quite enjoyed the layout of the restaurant. No doors separating the outside from the in, with plentiful stool seating to have a quick meal.
I was easily able to find 1 hour parking in front of Bruxie, but there are parking spaces available near the movie theater and other businesses. Service was good, as an employee let me sample their real sugar strawberry lemonade.
First time, definitely not last time! I highly enjoyed my Smoked Salmon Lox waffle sandwich. I do believe it's a tad overpriced, but my tastebuds, no doubt, enjoyed experiencing this delectable dish for the first time. I'm greatly anticipating coming back & having a go at Bruxie's other waffle wonderments.
Highly...
Read moreWho knew that a burger served in a crisscrossed and carby piece of heaven known as the waffle would transport me to a world unknown yet totally delightful in a combination of two classics... waffle. Burger. Yes waffle plus burger does indeed equal mind blown. As does waffle plus various types of chicken and ranch and bacon and avocado and so on and so forth. Basically, the point I'm trying to make here is if you see a place that serves various types of meals in a waffle, it's worth a try. My first was actually at a place called Qrious Palate (or something like that) in Long Beach, but the Bruxie chain is also super good.
What I like about this particular location is the openness in downtown Brea so you can enjoy your delicious food as the world goes by. Normally I eat at morning or lunch so people are usually coming and going, unlike late evenings where DT Brea is buzzing with shoppers, movie goers, etc.
This place seems to be more busy at night, but it's great at any time of day.
One word of advice though, if you get the fried chicken in any sort, either wait for a while to eat it, or poke it with something to let the heat out, because the steam and heat trapped inside the fried portion of the chicken is enough to turn your tongue into rubber and the roof of your mouth into ribbons and as such you will not appreciate the flavors that they have made for you because it burnt up your insides. However, that is my only word of caution. Go forth and try this place out.
Seriously, what are you doing still reading this random stream of consciousness I am typing. Get up and go grab a burger in a waffle with a side of waffle fries...
Read moreI was in the area on a cold rainy night and was looking for a place to eat on Google Maps and came across Bruxie. It had great reviews and the menu looked great, so I though I’d give it a try. I parked in the parking garage and walked over to the restaurant (short walk).. As soon as I walked in to this awesome looking restaurant, I was greeted by Kim. I told her that it was my first time and she did a great job at explaining the concept and menu, so I decided to go with the El Jefe Chicken Sandwich with the Waffle fires and a soda. I dined in so I got a number and went to the table to wait for my food. The restaurant was really clean and have these giant rolls of paper towel on the tables with some hot sauces along side. While waiting for the food I was entertained by good music and a couple TV’s... My food was brought to me with delight. I cut the sandwich into half and then took my first bite. I’ve got to say the chicken was cooked perfectly! Not too oily, batter was great and was juicy!! The buns heals the chicken and the fresh tasting, crunchy slaw! The Waffle fires were awesome and not too salty! Had some ketchup and hot sauce to accompany the great food and made for a wonderful meal!! In the end I had to thank everyone including the cooks for a great meal and customer service. Had a great conversation with the Manager Melissa, Talia & Kim about how great my experience was. Thank you!! Will be back and highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and great...
