I love Mexican food. It's my top 5 favorite type of cuisines to eat. This place was actually good overall. It had a light crowd as well, with many customers of different ages and ethnicites too. If it wasn't relocating I'd visit again. So, after about a hour driving in the rain and switching plans to go to different restaurants (Shagga was having problems, so they were closed for the day and the Black-owned vegan place across the street had NO parking) my friend, Ms. Lily, suggested this place. The food was my treat (except she wanted to pay for the little food she ate before I arrived.) I think she bought an order of sopes, chips and salsa, and a coffee ☕ (Cafe de Olla.) I was cool with coming here. My friend ate some chips and had a little of the salsa verde and spicy sauce but her stomach can't really take that 😅🙃. She ended up giving me her chips later to take home. She ordered the burrito 🌯 and mango drink 🥭 and I ordered Horchata (under agua frescas), camarones enchipotlados (a spiced shrimp dish), and the trio of tacos: 🌮: yucatecos (to-go.) The food was spot on! I really loved all the flavors even the spice. I ate my plate - no leftovers (except my to-go tacos 🌮 😅.) I ate several chipotle peppers too. My friend NEVER had horchata before so I suggested she get a sample cup, so I asked the waitress (glasses and hair cut on sides) for one. It took her a while to bring it to the table and she didn't bring the entrees all at one. It was probably about 3 minutes in difference. So that was annoying. I wish the menu listed all the house drinks they made, because no one would know unless they either asked or looked at the machine pitchers of drinks in the kitchen area. Advertise that stuff! The horchata was great 😃. My friend liked the horchata and it was cooling for some of the spice in her 🌯 burrito, which she had leftovers of and decided to take home. I treated and the total was 60.95 and I tipped so the grand total was almost $71 dollars 💵. By October 30, 2023, this location is relocating to Route 1 off of Rhode Island Avenue. There is demolition and construction to build UNaffordable housing near University of Maryland - College Park, so all off the businesses in that campus mall are either going to have to relocate or close shop. This is pretty unfortunate because I really want to head to that African restaurant and the Mr. Fries man location (again). Hopefully the Mr. Fries restaurant doesn't move too far because the next location is in Towson. I'm sorry, but I'm not going super close to Baltimore just for decorated loaded fries... 🍟. Anyhow, I'd like to visit the restaurant again but with Taqueria Habanero 🌶️ basically moving to/near DC I doubt they'll have parking 🅿️. I absolutely hate heading to restaurants that don't have bomb 💣 parking, at least, so this will be the first and last time I would be willing to go there.

Let me tell you all about this place. It is advertised to be 99% authentic Mexican food but I was very disappointed with their guacamole. This was my first time eating here and I heard such great things about their tacos. As a huge fan of guacamole I thought if the tacos are said to be good the guac should be too, boy was I wrong. We ordered the largest size guacamole for $15 just to get home and have a running green sauce given to us as an imitation to guacamole. I wanted to give this place a chance to redeem themselves so I called and asked to speak with the manager. The phone was given to someone who stated he was not the manager but in charge and there was no manager there. I began to tell him that the guacamole didn't taste or look like guac, but a runny green sauce. He looked up my ticket number and say, "ok that's how we sell it." To clarify I asked him to go and look at the guacamole and he insisted that this was how it was made and sold and there was nothing he could do. I wasn't looking for a refund but accountability that what is being sold as guacamole was not that but instead received dismissal and lack of accountability. For this alone I will never return or send anyone to this establishment. BEWARE IF LOOKING FOR REAL GUACOMOLE THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO ORDER IT!!!!

All of the tacos here are AMAZING! All topped with onions and cilantro. They make their tortillas in house daily and heat them on the griddle. As well as 3 fresh salsas: salsa rojo, salsa verde and habanero. Ask for the grasshopper taco, it will change your life! Crunchy and Smokey with lots of flavor. My absolute favorite. The octopus taco was my second favorite. The texture was perfect and paired well with a slightly spicy salsa. Chorizo was a close 3rd place, which was perfectly delicious with no salsa at all. The lengua taco had good flavor nice texture, but was a bit dry. The barbacoa (goat) taco was very goat-y, so if you love goat you will love this taco. Extremely friendly servers and staff. They have Mexican Coca-Cola, Jarritos, and daily aqua frescos. Check this place out. We went for lunch and the dining room was packed. They have a separate side of the restaurant just for take out, which is genius. I will definitely be going back here soon.

My food is typically good at this location, but this past visit has changed my mood. I decided to get a margarita to-go, and I regret it. 1) They do not give you nearly enough for how much it costs. 2) The bartender gave me a faulty cup, that had multiple hairline fractures in it. Because of that, the yellow margarita spilled on my all white top and left a huge yellow stain. No one suggested to give me a refund nor did they believe it was a cause of alarm. Definitely won’t be returning here, simply because their service was cold and uninviting, nor did anyone seem to care about my dilemma, and I didn’t even make a huge fuss about it…I even still paid for the margarita and didn’t demand a refund. But the fact that no one cared or even suggested is the inconsiderate part. Customer Service 2/10…

Hot or miss. We’ve dined in before and service seemed alright but i guess that’s where it ends. Feels very much like they skimp on carry out/to go orders which makes it NOT worth the price. I ordered chips and salsa and was only given two tiny 1 ounce cups to go w my chips which wasn’t even enough LOL. My bf got the torta sandwich which was supposed to come with fries and they literally put like 3 french fries in the order, I kid you not. We weren’t given utensils although we asked, and they left out his grapefruit soda so we had to drive all the way back to get it and the worker didn’t seem to care at all. For $50 this was some straight BS I could find better for much less lol I don’t think I’ll be returning.
