I have been a loyal customer of this Aldi's store since its opening. While it used to be a pleasant place for grocery shopping, I regret to inform you that the store's conditions and customer service have significantly deteriorated recently.
During my recent visit, I encountered an unpleasant situation at the self-checkout counter. A cashier, adorned with multiple facial and nasal piercings, abruptly halted my transaction, claiming that the number of items in my shopping cart exceeded the permissible limit for self-checkout. This occurred after I had already commenced scanning my groceries.
Despite the store's concerns about theft and unpaid purchases at the self-checkout, I believe that as a regular customer, I should be recognized and exempted from such restrictions. However, the cashier insisted that there is a specific limit on the number of items allowed for self-checkout, and my cart exceeded this limit by approximately three items.
Upon requesting evidence of this policy from the Aldi's manual, the cashier was unable to provide any concrete proof. Consequently, I informed her of my intention to pursue legal action against the company for potential discrimination and profiling.
It is my understanding that the self-checkout option is provided for customer convenience and should be accessible when required, rather than being subject to arbitrary restrictions imposed by cashiers.
I kindly request that you address this matter promptly to ensure that regular customers like myself continue to receive the positive shopping experience that Aldi's...
Read moreOkay, so diving into the rating: Aldi has been known to be chaotic especially during peak hours. Today was one of those days, unfortunately. The cashier at number 4 that seemed to keep the security guard close or distracted from other duties, was just loud and rude. It was nice she was telling people other lines were open because this Aldi has bad visibility when it comes down to the lines and check out. I don't know who designed checkout but it was bad, now it's worse. The design was made without the employees or consumers in mind. Her tone was okay in the beginning, but as her shift continued, it seems like she was beyond frustrated that everyone kept piling up on her line. Understandably so. It wasn't her fault but patience is definitely key in those types of situations.
Customer service - my experience on register 1 was a 10/10
Prices: 10/10 - Affordable. I had forgotten how much money I could save here and come out with so much.
Parking: Parking is complicated if you make it so. Those who have an issue with being so far away from the store will hold up the parking lot for a space. Those, like myself, I just want to park, get in and out. That's what it's about folks. Unless you have a ♿️ sticker. Then you need...
Read moreI visited this Hyattsville location on 6/29/2020. I frequent this location often but on this particular day I had a terrible experience with the cashier Alexus. After patiently waiting in line to be checked out Alexus decided to take a customer before me. He only had one item but the point is she should’ve asked me as a paying customer if it was ok to have another customer skip me in line. Then she rushed me to get the cart as if she didn’t already have an empty cart beside her. Most cashiers with common sense would place my items in the cart already beside them and just take the next empty basket once my groceries are taken out. Then she proceeds to ask me if I’m paying cash or card. Then demands that I insert my card before she finishes totaling my purchase. She lacks great customer service. As if that was not frustrating enough. The alarm sounds when me and my family proceeds out the store. The security guard watched as we went through checkout and packed our groceries yet he still manages to walk over and ask...
