I went to the store today and browsing a few items, I decided upon a Pirates of the Caribbean set I was looking for. I asked if I would get store credit to purchase a second minifig. Initially the owner said the system would take a day to confirm the credit, which made me less interested on this purchase. Later he confirmed that I could get the credit, and I confirmed again that "by buying this $325 + tax I would get a store credit that would allow me to buy this other $25 minifig for $10 correct?" and the owner said "yes".
Now, the store has a different policy from the ones I usually see. They give 5% off on the second purchase, not $5 for every $100 you purchase. So after my first set was purchased, I got a $24 bill on the second minifig, which I did not agree. Me and the owner, we debated a little.
The owner was honorable and honored our deal. He was upset, I was distressed but in the end the deal got done.
This is a new store. At the time of this review there were only 4 other reviews. I wish this store succeeds and when the owners read this I truly hope they feel I spoke from a good hearted place. Whenever I am traveling outside my home state Atlanta Georgia, I try to visit and buy at least something on every store locally. More Bricks and Minifigs, more LEGO lovers. The space is family owned and all their kids were working together on the store.
As a new store, there are still some improvements to be made. For example, I visited 4 Bricks and Minifigs on this day and and in all of them I was greeted "Welcome" when I entered the store. I was not on this store. Just a small detail.
I rated this stars because I don't agree with the 5% policy, and I think some improvements need to be made yet to the...
Read moreUpdated after returning again a few weeks later; Much better experience with the staff all around. Greeted every time I come in and everyone is super eager to help. Checking in if there's anything I'd like a closer look at/looking for in particular. I still do struggle with the pricing on most items. Some being more reasonable than others of course.
Still, if it's not far from you I'd say it's worth your time to stop in and see what their used inventory looks like. They'll usually have some things that you don't find used too often (UCS A-Wing and First Order SD just to name a couple finds). Also have to give credit on their custom figure selection. Biggest selection I've seen in any of the BAMS in WI or Wapi Bricks and the pricing is spot on to the online stores of the given custom shop from what I've seen. Just stay an informed buyer and don't let your reminiscing take over you. As an example, I visited both the Kenosha and Brookfield BAM stores on May 29th and they both had used USC Vader TIE fighters in stock. If I remember right, there was a price difference of over $60-70 with the Kenosha store being the cheaper of the two, and I don't recall either missing any of the expensive bits. It's a bit of a drive of course so factor that in to your purchasing but it's just things to consider.
Also, I have to give bonus points for the world's best greeter who's sometimes in when I've gone earlier in the day. I forgot to ask his/her name but just put your hand out for the sniff test and if you get the lick of approval, you're good to peruse...
Read moreI stop Friday at 430 to this amazing store. I was trying to surprise my wife with a Belle blue dress lego. There was 2 nice ladies working. Both were very friendly and tried to see if they had in stock. Once they found out that it was not in store they looked and found one online. I let them decide the best looking one. When the ladies told me about discount going on i bought a small and medium millennium falcon, Daisy duck figure, Mando and Grugu lego set and ordered the Belle. I also signed up for membership. It was an amazing 1st time going in and because of the amazing service won't be the last time coming...
