While I do recommend boarding and grooming your dogs here, I don't recommend paying for training classes. I recently enrolled my dog in classes and was told I could make up classes if I missed any. Low and behold I got sick with Covid one week and couldn't make it, then the next class was canceled and I was also called once again for a class being canceled ALTHOUGH it's possible this was a miscommunication on their part and I understand that these things can happen. The very last class I had such a tumultuous day that I completely forgot about it.
I understand that two of these missed days were my fault, and I messaged asking if there was any way I could make them up and was swiftly told that my dog is now at the age where she would need the next stage class and that they are willing to give me partial credit for a class. While I appreciate that offer, the whole interaction has just left a bad taste in my mouth. I wouldn't feel this way if I hadn't been told that classes could be made up and then told that she is now too old to do so. Just a little warning for anyone looking into training here.
Other than that, the workers seem very nice and helpful. I will say though that the previous interaction left such a bad taste in my mouth that I will no longer be bringing either of my dogs here and have changed to a different boarding/grooming place. I stand by my previous statement of the majority of the workers being lovely, but I still feel like the trainer was trying to gaslight me by telling me that they had only cancelled one class when I vividly remember getting two different calls about class...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst of all, I want to preface by saying that I love my groomer Cathy. She does an excellent job. I would continue to bring my dog to her if she were at another facility. That being said, Stone Mountain is a rip-off and I fully believe they care about the money more than the dogs. Kennel cough is running around their facility in Brooklyn Park and their response is to put a piece of paper at the front desk just casually notifying people, while still taking in guests' dogs for day-care and grooming. I had no idea of the fact that it was there until my mother's Bichon contracted it from being groomed there and brought it home to infect my dog. It cost us a combined $500 in vet bills as they thought her dog had a collapsing trachea and we were freaking out!! When we realized what was going on and called, they just casually said 'yeah, there was a dog here who had it. There's a notice at the front desk.' No apologies, no concern, nothing! I am sorry, but there needs to be a serious change in the way you are notifying your guests of illness running through your kennels. I would never have brought a dog to your facility knowing that there was risk of infection. Even with vaccination they can get kennel cough - there are several strains. My dog was vaccinated and still spent 2 weeks horribly sick and coughing so hard she vomited all over my house. When I called and asked to a manager I was told she wasn't there... I said I would leave it up to the manager to decide whether or not it was the right thing to do to call me. No phone call. I'd already cancelled my grooming appointment. I'm done with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been using these guys for a few years, and I must say they know what they are doing.
I started out bringing my old dog Bruno here; at first Bruno loved being in daycare and was super happy to go. But he got old and when his health started to go south and he was no longer the same pup and didn't want to socialize with other dogs. This organization communicated it directly to me. I still used them for boarding though and not day care. For obvious reasons mentioned above (he got to old and tired, and didn't want to play).
In December of 2022 I rescued a new puppy (Blitz). And started using them again. My new pup was a disaster when I found him. Bad case of heartworm, signs of abuse and neglect. He's come along way. I started bringing him here because I travel and want to use them for boarding, and daycare to help him socialize with other dogs, and I'm convinced this is a safe and enjoyable place to bring pets. They have been wonderful with my pups since i started using them.
My new dog is not aggressive but he doesn't know how to socialize with other dogs, and this is something I knew before I brought him here. He's not aggressive he is still young and playful with a puppy mentality, and in short is overly excited and just wants to play (we have work to do).
I'm super happy with how this organization communicates issues with their customers. How they work with the pets in their care.
I plan on trying out their training classes for Blitz.
Also I have come to the conclusion that good customer service is part of the culture for this...
