Probably not the best ramen. When I hear Ramen, I think of authentic Japanese Ramen & let me just say this, the ramen here might not be for everyone's preference.
I read some reviews about the ramen from this place & wanted to give it a try. I'm use to getting a good bowl from "Ichiddo Ramen" so I hoped it was just as good. Keep in mind that each restaurant makes their own style of food & in this case, Ramen.
The shrimp wraps, chicken skewers & pork skewers were good in flavor, they ran out of beef but I would've loved to also try.
The ramen, was not the greatest in my personal opinion. I ordered the "Chashu Ramen" & it tasted similar to pho and had a lot of sesame flavor. So on the website it says "served with thinly sliced pork" but the pork was thick, HOWEVER, it was delicious 😋! I did read another person's review on here about a good bowl of ramen & they mentioned how good the pork and egg was compared to the broth and noodles & I can see why. I also agree that I enjoyed more of the pork & boiled egg than the broth and noodles. Even though the broth is the key essential when having a good bowl of ramen. It was a bit bland & I will say I miss that creamy Tonkotsu broth.
My experience wasn't terrible, service was decent, quick & had little interaction. Instead this is how Rolls & Bowls make their ramen as uniquely as the other items they specialize in (such as their Poke Bowls, which I have yet to try). Unfortunately the ramen just wasn't suited for my taste. So maybe next time I will try some of the other stuff Rolls & Bowls has to offer. Funny how this is also categorized as "Ramen Restaurant". ⭐️⭐️⭐️❌️❌️ Dissappointed that the ramen just wasn't up to my standards & it was a bit pricey in my opinion. Also keep in mind, they do have a automatic gratuity 💸. So don't be alarm & just make sure you check your receipt. 😊

Read moreInteresting and creative menu with a lot of customization options which I thought was cool, very friendly staff. I had the Chashu Ramen which while it was not what I was expecting, had a nice lighter pork broth with just a hint of smokiness to it that I quite enjoyed. Had a very large slice of chashu that was tender and flavorful and a nice egg. Noodles were prepared well and while I’m not normally a mushroom fan the shiitakes worked here. I’ve been to various ramen shops across the USA and I was happy with my order. Also had the Summer Tempura roll which was a cool take on a spring roll and came with a tasty dipping sauce. The tempura shrimp was great and added a nice crunch to the roll. Finally I got the fried milk cake to go and once again not at all what I was expecting but it was a very unique and cool idea for a dessert. My roommate asked me if it came with a dipping sauce after trying it which made me think how awesome a raspberry purée or something would be with it! I saw some people complain about pricing on the reviews but while it may be a touch expensive I’d much rather support a small business than save $5 on my bill at a chain restaurant. Looking forward to going back to try the spicy miso ramen...
Read moreI am giving a 2 star rating based on their food. I ordered the eggrolls, cream cheese wontons, pho, and grilled pork banh mi.
Let's start off with the appetizers. The eggrolls and cream cheese wontons are about $7 each and I thought the price was a bit steep. I was willing to try it though since they are a new place that opened and thought maybe there was going to be a bit more flair based on their price. Eggrolls were a HUGE disappointment. The paper was very doughy and the flavor reminded me of Panda Express. Cream cheese wontons were ok as well but definitely not worth its price.
Now the entrees... Pho was OK as well. It had a very bold cinnamon taste to it and broth was very bland. And the banh mi... they put iceberg lettuce in it and I was not used to that because that's not how traditional banh mi is made. They also did not include much meat, cucumbers, and cilantro in the banh mi!
I had a slight feeling their food was going to be OK since their menu is very scattered with Vietnamese and Japanese items. IDK, maybe their Japanese food is better but I'm not planning to come back.
So again, I give it 2 stars because the food was OK and it...
