The lady who used to do my nails called herself “Diane” and at some point she stopped working there and now “Sherry” is the boss. “Diane” used to wax my under arms with no problem. I ALWAYS left a GOOD tip and would spend up to $100 on services at any one time. I used to get a underarm wax, A facial wax, Deluxe Pedicure, and a full set all at once. This was usual for me. My first complaint came when they hired the boy. I don’t know his English name. Let’s call him “Jack.” “Jack” was rough and over picked at my toes. So I told “sherry” I didn’t want him doing my feet anymore. She accommodated. Great. But then on another occasion she had him do my nails insisting that he’d gotten better. So I went along with it. Well, one day “jack” is sawing my nails with a file and over clipping the cuticle and it was so painful. I jerked my hands back when he clipped some fresh skin and I looked at him. Then he pulled my hand back towards him and gave me a dirty look! I said “Don't yank my hands! You're hurting me!” Most lady techs would have stopped and asked if it was ok to continue. But He acted confused and then complained about me in Vietnamese. Finally, he said sorry; begrudgingly. Then as it went on I decided to ask “sherry” for my usual wax treatment. She said “No!” Started laughing and speaking over me to her coworkers in Vietnamese. Then they all started laughing. “Jack” looks at me pitiably and so I felt embarrassed. It caught me off guard and then she finally said “oh no we don’t do that anymore.” That was the beginning of the end. I stopped dealing with her. I’d request other techs instead of “Sherry” and “jack.” I insisted on waiting. And eventually I just stopped going. It just wasn’t professional anymore. “Diane” was the glue that held it all together. She knew how to manage the business and treat her clients with respect and gratitude. I felt angry about this experience after spending all my money there all these years. Don’t mock me in Vietnamese when Im handing you my Coin. It’s close to home and convenient. Yet, When I drop cash in a place I want to be treated with the dignity and respect I deserve as a long time well paying client. So my dollars will go to some other place that understands this. Anyway, The best girls there are “Kim” and “Nancy” but everyone wants them to work on them; so the wait is ALWAYS terrible or you need an appointment. You’d think they’d do better knowing they are surrounded by Asian salons that do the exact same thing they do. A customer can go anywhere so that’s what I’m doing. Oh and I’m not that hairy so I didn’t deserve to be...
Read moreI'm looking for a new nail salon within my community. I came across this salon I visited. I am writing to express my deep disappointment and distress over a highly negative and humiliating experience I had at your salon over six months ago. The incident has left me feeling anxious and fearful about visiting other nail salons due to the laughter and mockery I endured. During my visit, I was shocked and confused by the disrespectful and offensive comments made by one of your employees while providing the service. The remarks targeted my physical appearance, specifically my feet size. Despite I understood every word, laugh, and giggle shared amongst the employees and their colleagues in their native language. This experience has been incredibly degrading, and as a paying customer, I believe I deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. It is completely unacceptable for an employee to engage in such behavior while providing services to customers. It is crucial for your salon to take proactive measures to prevent the recurrence of such unprofessional behavior. I suggest implementing comprehensive training programs focused on customer service etiquette and sensitivity towards diversity to ensure that all staff members understand the importance of treating all customers with fairness, empathy, and respect. I want to emphasize that while this incident occurred over six months ago, the emotional impact has remained with me, making me hesitant to seek services at other nail salons due to the fear of experiencing similar laughter and ridicule. Truly "WE" Black and Brown women need to STOP spending our hard-earned money with these nail salons that treat us less than these and only employee one percent of our kind. I'm writing this because this experience has happened at many different nail salons throughout the city and suburbs. I'm just tired of the poor treatment. I'm not rude, loud, or obnoxious. Actually, I'm very quiet, respectful, and reserved. I'M TIRED OF THE MISTREATMENT. I believe everyone deserves respect, and I believe we need to treat everyone...
Read moreI had the most disrespectful experience with Lisa. She was very rude to me due to the fact I needed my polish because my one nail chipped. I was just there on Saturday and 4 hours later my one nail chipped. As soon I sat down Lisa was very disrespectful. Was trying to start an argument with me over my nails. We had already discussed Saturday what I needed to do on my next appointment. I kept telling her how I understood what she was saying but I wasn't there for that. I just wanted my polish fixed. When I told her to move on she got loud with me telling me how messed up my nail were. Remind you I have been going going to her for 2 or 3 months stright and never discussed how messed up my nails were. When it came time to pick my polish she told me to pick but I only needed one nail fixed and the rest of my nail were the polish from Saturday. 3 days ago. She told me how she has too many customers to keep up with my color. But she can remember from Saturday that my nails were so jacked. When came time to pay she told me I didn't have to. I told her how much since it was such an issue I'll pay. She said no it's on the house. I'm not going to service you again. I will never step foot in that place again. Lisa is unprofessional and feels that you should only spend your money with her and no other nail place. She came from happy nails and I go there from time to time and everytime I come back to her...
