8900 Bar & Bistro — Restaurant in Brown Deer

We went here for the first time tonight.

We went for the all you can eat fish fry. It was buffet style and not much selection of fish type or side.

The fish was good and we both enjoyed it.

As for the service maybe our server just had a bad night. But they took our drink order right away and figured the drinks would be there after we get our fish. After coming back from the buffet our drinks were not there.

We finished our first helping and our drinks were still had not been served. We went up for a second helping and we got back and still no drinks and I had finished my water by that point. We ended up having to ask a busser about our drinks. Our server seemed very preoccupied with hostess duties and socializing with friends and guests. We did get our drinks when we were almost done with our second helping.

Personally this is not a good way to run a restaurant. The hostess/host should not be doing double duty between serving and seating guests.

Needless to say we were unimpressed and wont be coming back.

I highly recommend that if the owner or manager reads this to seriously reflect upon this if this is the way this restuarant is...

We went there on Wednesday of this week due to our power being out for 48 hours. My fiancé and I went to eat at 8900 and it was an experience. The poor bartender also was the restaurant server because he was the only employee and there was a wedding going on in the banquet room. I was so impressed by the way he handled everything even though it was madness! Mostly every patron was kind and understanding (one woman complained to the GM about the slowness and all of us all the bar were rolling our eyes, come on Karen). The food was phenomenal, so good we will be back just for the restaurant. Not as good as advertise, people just walking in and out. No host or hostess. I ordered the alredo plain, waitress ask if i wanted chicken or shrimp that it comes with it, even asking are you sure she says yes, got my bill shrimp was $8. thats another dish on the menu.
