Second experience at Pastiche. Sat at reserved table early. At time of reservation, they had no recommendations, no wine specials. Waiter and staff looked disheveled and did not give us a feeling of good hospitality. Felt like we had to twist an arm to get to bottled water. No it was not served with a glass, but a wine glass. Zero table touching. Server did not care if we were having a pleasurable experience l, but was extremely defensive when addressing issues. Bread and butter came close to an hour after we sat down with frozen butter! And that's after watching the waiter pass by multiple times, not even caring that our reserved table was empty. My girlfriend is an Executive Chef and I take time and great consideration in chooses a restaurant to enjoy. A French restaurant that wants to be of a certain caliber should understand basics like table touching and not to serve frozen butter. As well as bring actual glasses (plural) for water when ordered. Pistache was well aware that this was a reservation for a special occasion and milestone in Our life. Albeit, we were sat at the nice corner table, I feel that is as much care as they put into their service. If you have been turned off for bad service at a restaurant, more than likely it would be of the Applebee's caliber. Casual family dining with constant Long Island specials. But when you make a reservation at a French restaurant for a momentous occasion, you expect a certain standard to be held for your service. My love and I were hoping that our first experience at Pistache would be recreated. Unfortunately, everything was turned 180°. It went to out favorite restaurant to one neither of us will ever be visiting again.
PS... They serve tiger...
Read moreI’m a manager of a restaurant myself and this place was great! Our server was great , he was so knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious as well. I never leave reviews or ever complain, however, when we arrived literally 1 minute late to our reservation because of a crash on the highway, the hostess gave us a huge attitude. Mind you, our reservation was at 5, nobody else was in the restaurant. We literally walked into the place at 5:01. Okay whatever. at 7:05 we had just received our desserts and took a few bites when the hostess then came up to us and asked to take them away. We said no, but thank you. obviously because they were delicious and we wanted to finish them. She then proceeded to say “okay well we need this table” So I said, oh of course no problem, what time? She then said “7:00” wide eyed and angry. She then stormed away. It was 7:05I immediately asked for the bill and boxes. And while we were waiting for the boxes and the bill she continuously kept peeking at us with dirty looks and a rushed demeanor. I was still waiting for the check so I went to the restroom, walking back at around 7:10 she points at the table and says to the server they need to leave now. Well , we were just leaving ma’am. Never once did I get told that we were on a time limit. We weren’t being slow we were simply eating as we got a four course meal. We didn’t take long to order or eat so I’m confused on why she was so rude. I’m sorry I never do this but...
Read moreThis was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the overall atmosphere, to the welcoming and friendly staff, right through the deliciousness of the meal.
A little more upscale than we usually do for our group, but you gotta splurge now and then. And this was definitely the place to splurge. Very unassuming exterior, yet classy interior with linens and full changing of flatware between courses.
From the host to the server, we were warmingly welcomed and made to feel at home. The chef even came out when we were finished to greet us and ask how we enjoyed our evening. This is a detail lacking in most restaurants today. He was personable and genuinely seemed please we loved all of the food. No ego, no pretention. Just a man who loves doing what he does and seeing others enjoy the fruits of his labor.
I started with a predinner grasshopper. So yummy.
The food was simply amazing. Everyone ordered a different dish and everyone loved every bite. I ordered a salad before my main course and ended up not able to finish the entree. Will make for a great lunch today at work. Three of the group ordered different fish dishes, one ordered a steak, and I ordered the chicken in morel mushroom sauce. I could have melted in my chair from how good the flavors of the chicken, vegetables, and sauce all combined.
Not that I can afford to do it often, but we will DEFINITELY...
