I just wrote a long rave about the joy of making art with Michael's, after creating a frame for my latest painting with Slan in the frame shop. At age 90, even completing the painting took nerve, and getting it to Michael's in the early darkness and rain took more! By the time I left, I was a newly reborn art-maker, due to at least two people--Alan, an art-maker in the frame shop, and a young man named Xavier, who insisted on getting me and my belongings safely to my car. He stayed to chat with me and told me he was a student at College of Coastal Georgia. We discovered we had both grown up in Atlanta, and both loved it! Called ahead of time to see if they had anymore bristol boards so I didn't waste a trip. I asked if they sold them and the employee couldnt hear me and thought I said crystal boards so i spelled out bristol. She immediately said ohhh bristol boards, no we don't sell them here. Feeling like she didnt even acknowledge or try to look, I looked online and saw they were in stock. I walked right in to the art supplies and found 2 different kinds of bristol boards. Very rude non helpful associate named JoJo checked me out. Would not give me senior discount saying I had to have barcode. Finally called her manager and the manager processed it for her and Ms JoJo never said sorry or excuse me, nothing! She looked so mad and discussed and never said thank you. I left after I told her with a smile, now you know how to do it..have a nice day. What a sorry lazy person working there. She needs to be fired!!!! Manager...
