PRODUCT WARNING! Please bare with me, I’m just trying to paint the whole picture. So my husband went to go get us some dinner here tonight (arrived at 8:40 pm). I texted him my order, exact same thing I always get, minus onions this time. He gives the line cook his phone to read what exactly I want, and then he orders his. He gets home and by the time we get our child tended to for the night, we finally dig into our food around 9:50 ish pm. Well I had to call the store at 10:10pm after closing, hoping someone answers, and by surprise they did. I ask for the manager, turns out she was on the other line with another customer. So I explain to the lady on the phone that something in my burrito and husbands has now lit us in fire (we didn’t get anything to knowledge of jalapeños or peppers.) and my mouth is now in welps. so she proceeds to ask what was all on it, and I said the same thing I always get again, and proceeded to list every item. She explains that both the pick de Gallo and corn salsa is what was hot. I told her that was the spiciest 2 toppings I’ve ever had of those kinds of toppings, and she may need to check them. They are never that hot and I’ve never had any pico or corn salsa in my life that hot. She then says oh Ive already tasted both today and they are fine and not hot. (Well how could they make my burrito hot if you “tasted them” and they weren’t hot)? Then she proceeded to say, well it’s because we didn’t have time to change out gloves between orders. Either which way, you don’t argue with a frequent customer on how your product is fine and it’s supposed to be that way, when it’s never been that way before. (Maybe warning labels or a ingredient list is now needed)? And about the gloves, I explained that was a health issue for cross contamination . (Even though I generally wouldn’t be to concerned with it) but don’t let that be and excuse. Its poor. So the rest of my $16 burrito is now in the trash after puctures have been taken. So fair warning, if you want to enjoy your burrito, and get those 2 items, ask to sample them before getting them on your wrap, because I guess someone went free Willy on the jalapeños, or ask them to please change their gloves before making your food. Since those were both the excuses tonight. No...
Read moreSurcheros Fresh Mex is great! We’ve been to several locations throughout southern Georgia (usually driving through from Florida to northern states) and we are always pretty happy with what we get. My best explanation of this place is it’s like Chipotle, but it tastes a little fresher, is slightly less expensive, you get more food for your money, and it has different options. There are less meat options, but there are way more toppings available, and more types of rice and sauces! They also offer tacos here, which Chipotle obviously doesn’t do. The best part about getting a bowl is they give you tortilla chips for free, and they have a whole salsa counter on the other side of the restaurant with several different types of red and green salsas to choose from! Pick and choose whatever you like for your chips! It’s a nice addition and a good way to differentiate from Chipotle and other Mexican counter-serve places. Our only complaint here was some of the rice in our bowls was hard (not much, just a few bites), though I think this is because we got the very end of the rice before they refilled the container. There likely was some rice stuck to the edges of the container that dried out and ended up in our bowls. Not a big deal, and not enough to take a bunch of points off a review because overall everything else was good. I still recommend it if you’re looking for a quick counter-serve Mexican-American restaurant! Don’t always go to Chipotle; try...
Read moreUsually if I don't like a place I just move on but....I really, really wanted to like this place and man I was so dissapointed. Atmosphere is chill and "hip" but not very friendly. Food seemed fresh enough but there was really no flavor to most of it. Ended up adding a lot of salsa to make up for that fact....the burritos weren't hot when served to us, they were barely even lukewarm. The chips weren't that great and weren't warm either though I saw them heating them up/frying them so not sure there. The one guy making mine...I asked for sour cream and there was practically nothing left in the tray, instead of getting a new tray he scraped the sides and applied what little he got by smearing it on the sides of the tortilla...when it was my husband's turn and he asked "is there any more sour cream?" The guy started scraping the sides again and trying to smear what little was on the spoon so my husband just told him it was alright and not to worry. The lady then cleared out all three containers of queso and, if you don't know, they tins are heated in a vat of hot/steamed water to keep them warm and it's murky looking because obviously queso will drip down the sides while serving....I'm okay with that....but as she lifted the containers OVER somebody's prepped burrito and chips as it dripped old queso water. Cleanliness could also definitley be improved. I was just sadly dissapointed this time around. Maybe I'll try again at a...
