We visited the Buckeye Aquatic Center/Park. The kids had a nice time. I have to give it to the Life Guard Staff. They kept a very close eye on the water at all times. Due to them closing at 5 we only had a 2 hour time there . It was extremely crowded however it was a pleasant experience. Only one family was asked to leave and that was due to a child acting out and hitting on other children. I like that the staff took it seriously enough to ask them to leave.
I loved that their prices are very reasonable, at only $2 it remains affordable. It also includes a life jacket if your little one needs it. There was a great little snack area, it stayed busy on the hot day. Because the lounge chairs run out fast I love that you are able to bring in a chair, small cooler, your own drinks, and drink cups. This was a great little find for me and the kids, especially on a summer budget. They are open Monday through Friday from 12:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday they reserve for private parties. There were a few picnic tables just outside the fence from the water area, with a playground for the children which I loved , you know in case they were tired of water (but like that would happen) it gives them another play experience/opportunity.
Lastly they have showers and their signage suggests showering before entering the pool ( great idea) area, as well as lockers to store your belongings if need be. I am sure we will be back many more times over this summer vacation. Also if you missed getting the little ones a snack prior to closing I noticed a cart outside in the parking lot selling...
Read morei went there on the 28th of may and paid for my 2 kids. I was told that I had to pay as well. I've never had to pay in the past if I wasnt swimming, so this is def a new rule. I did ask the female employee about it and she rudely replied that it been like that since she had been there. That couldnt have been long since I just went there last summer. I did notice after arrving that it closed it 5. I had gotten there at 4:15, so I asked "i still have to pay, even tho i am not swimming and it closes in less than an hour" and again she replied very rudely "YES". I've been going there for years and even paid for my childrens swim lessons. That stops now. I am done. They need to hire employees that know customer service just a little bit.. and if they are going to change their rules, they need to post it. Either way, there are other...
Read moreGreat place to take the kids for an afternoon w/out having to spend lots of money. They have a (fairly inexpensive) small snack bar where you can purchase drinks, snow cones, nachos, candy, etc. There is also a park next to the pool that has ramadas, grills, & a small playground. Suggestion to anyone looking to visit the Buckeye Aquatic Center... Check the free swim hours for the day by visiting the website &/or calling the facility. They are only open 12pm-5pm Monday-Saturday & 7pm-9pm on Monday & Wednesday, however, there are also days/times that they have swim classes (& other activities) that they close for...so you don't want to get there & have to turn right around & go home. (The times they are open as well as the closures are the only reason I scored 4 stars...
