This was the worst case of customer service I have ever run into. I tried to return an unopened item the same day I bought it. The manager on duty(Michelle) today said I needed my receipt. Totally understandable. I asked if they could look me up through my ACE rewards number. They said if I had my receipt that I would be able to see it said warranty exchange only. Which makes sense if it's opened. But it's clearly unopened and then they printed me a copy of my receipt to show me what it says. Sure enough it says Warranty exchange only. Which makes sense if it's opened. Posted at the register it says that return policy is 21 days with an unopened box with receipt. So now they have printed me a receipt which means I fit all of their criteria. So she pointed out that it's also says on the printout next to the register that it says at manager's discretion. So she said she didn't want to do it so they weren't going to do it. I decided to play her game. Lol! So I told her I wanted to do a warranty exchange. She said what's wrong with it? I said I don't know it just doesn't work. She can clearly see that it's unopened. She asks again what's wrong with it I said it's broken. So she opens it up and can again clearly see that it's still in the original packaging twist tie still on the cord. 😆 Michelle says what do you want to do? I said I want a new one. She says ok let me see if we have another one. She said that was her last one and she's going to have to order me one in. I said perfect when can I come get it? She said it will be here on Tuesday!! 😆🤣😂 So I took it to the location by my house and talked to a sane manager and they returned it for me. She wasted about half an hour of her time, her cashier's time and my time for no reason. Michelle of the stupidest people I have spoken with in a long time! I guess she felt like she had some sort of power over the situation. I had fun with it. Wouldn't recommend this location but if it's an emergency and you have nowhere else to go I would highly recommend waiting to speak with a more qualified manager if the need arises and...
Read moreNot sure what happened this location. It used to be my absolute favorite location the people are always nice the managers are always nice. And the owners were amazing been going here for almost 25 years. Always what I needed an emergency part at closing time or a little bit after closing time they've always helped me out. Cuz I know where everything was. Today on the other hand I pulled up and it said yes we're open apparently when I walked up they turned the sign around and it said we're closed. The doors were not locked and people are still checking out. I knew exactly what part I needed and exactly where it was. They told me they were closed and to get out. I asked him nicely "can you at least sell me one thing I really need it" they replied " no we are closed!" Sadly it seems the hometown Ace Hardware there's no longer the very nice and helping Ace Hardware I Used to Know sadly. Not that I would come here all the time when they were closed or 5 minutes after. I can say and count on one hand the time in the last 25 years I absolutely needed their help right when they close their little bit after and they were glad to help me. Again not this time. The rudeness and absolute refusal to help me out when I really needed a part is ridiculous. Maybe New Management maybe new people maybe they had a bad day but As a plumber and in the business. I always go the extra mile to help out a customer. Whether it's after hours or time to close. People need stuff and human kindness goes a long way. If I was unable to help somebody and it was after hours I would at apologize profusely didn't hear that here and sadly humankindness is no longer at this Ace Hardware a simple sorry we can't help you we're closed instead of blatantly refusing to help would have gone a long way. They lost a 25 year long customer not only for me but from my entire...
Read moreUpdated Review 12/14/23. If you like being made felt like you're a thief, this is the Ace to go. Staff will be super friendly and helpful, but then stand literally in the same isle untill you get a product and walk to the register. Even if you say "thanks, I'm good" they will still stand there and watch you like a hawk pretending like their doing something. You're not slick, everyone knows what you're doing. I don't blame the workers, they are just the little guys. These direct orders are coming from the female store manager. I've been at that location multiple times spending 100's of dollars over the last year. At first I thought I was being sensitive about it, but after talking with multiple people from Old Town Buckeye that go there, they have all experienced the same thing. Last time was the last straw. I had the store manager help me find something, she stood there the entire time. She asked me, "Are you good?" I said "yeah". She hesitantly left and not even a minute later another lady comes and stands at the end of the isle watching me. I'm sick of it, I will never shop here again. I even told multiple contractor friends that shop there about it and they said they will not be going there either. Guess what Old Town Buckeye Ace, PEOPLE STEAL! It's never going to stop! But treating everyone as they are thiefs is NOT the way to go about it. Shame on you!! Be better, do better. If you don't trust your community, why are you here?
I've been here a few times now and every time I come everyone is nice, helpful, and eager to help you find what you need. I really like that it's small so there's people to actually help you not like going to the HD. Plus they have...
